Got a call from someone claiming to be with money expert. They knew my name and who I used to have for energy, which was a bit odd. They asked if my new supplier had contacted me about the energy price hikes, but I hadn’t heard anything. I made up a reason to cut the call short and asked them to ring back after 7pm. They kept the chat going longer than I wanted. Then they phoned again at 7:02pm but I didn’t pick up.

FINANCIAL ADVISORY SERVICE. Although they don’t explicitly label themselves as the Money Saving Expert, they have a rather misleading title claiming to be Money Expert. Their business appears to involve persuading individuals to switch their utility providers (like phone, gas, broadband, etc.) and they often pressure you to commit immediately, whether it's over the phone or at your doorstep, claiming that the offer is only valid for the next five minutes or some similar nonsense. I just gave them a ring, and they confirmed that they are indeed Money Expert. I expressed my concerns about them misusing my home phone number after a visit from one of their representatives, and I've insisted they take my number off their list.

So, these lot call themselves Money Expert, not Money Saving Expert like you might think (bit confusing or maybe a bit misleading). They're all about pushing you to switch your utilities - like phone, gas, broadband and that - and usually want you to agree on the spot, either on the phone or when they knock on your door, saying the offer's only good for a few minutes or some rubbish like that. I rang them up just now to check and yep, they confirmed they're Money Expert. I told them they shouldn’t be using my home number after a bloke turned up at my door, and I made it clear I want my number taken off their call list immediately.

They’ve called me 4 times from Thursday 20th right up to today the 24th of February, but every single time I pick up, they just hang up immediately!!! I tried calling back to find out who’s wasting my time!!!😖. Apparently, they said they’ve got around 50 employees and call a couple hundred people at once. So once the first 50 people answer, they hang up on the others and put those who didn’t pick up on another list to call again later. They really do keep going until they catch you!!!!
