Received a call from a bloke who said he needed to check my mum’s heating and gas meters. Claimed he was with British Gas and somehow worked out she’s on her own! He even set up an appointment. It’s left my mum really anxious and I can’t get to her straight away since I live quite a way off. Proper dodgy if you ask me.

I got a phone call from a guy sounding Yorkshire who somehow knew my name and where I live. He said some people would be nearby this week and could pop round for a quick, free 15-minute check of my home to spot where I might be wasting energy. I just thought it sounded dodgy and told him I wouldn’t be in. But after seeing other comments, I’m a bit worried they might try to come by and sneak in later on! I’ve blocked the number now.

Got a call yesterday around 4pm but wasn’t home to answer it, no voicemail either. Looked it up on this site afterwards and saw loads of people saying it’s about energy inspections or something like that.

Today my mum received a call from this number and ended up getting tricked. The caller claimed they were conducting some sort of energy survey and asked if she lived by herself. She confirmed she did, and they said they'd ring back the next day. The caller mentioned it was their first week and that their boss would get in touch too. Then, about five minutes later, mum got another call checking how the first one went, if the caller was nice and so on. Watch out, folks, don’t give these scammers any attention! They’re total con artists.

Got a call from someone called Chloe - sounded like she was just starting out and asking me a few things. Then not long after, Mason rang up to set up an appointment for some big energy firm, think it was the big five or something. I ended up agreeing to have them come round to check our insulation and windows. I’ll be out when they arrive anyway. Definitely felt a bit of a trap!

Someone rang saying they were from National Energy, said there's a crew coming to my road tomorrow and wanted to check if I owned the house. Asked if I’d be in the morning or afternoon. I told him to wait a sec so I could check! Then he just ended the call. He said his name was Keeton and sounded quite polite.
