However, when I requested him to clarify which company he was calling from, the line went silent. Now, if I attempt to ring the number back, there’s not even a dial tone. What steps should I take now?

Got a call from a bloke with a strong Northern accent, said he was from some energy review company. Tried to schedule a home energy review, dropped names like BG, the government's warm home scheme, and EON. Felt fishy, like it was leading into some sort of sales pitch. He said their crew would be around the area the next day and pushed for a meeting. I just said no and ended it there.

I've been getting calls from someone claiming to be an energy advisor linked with British Gas, offering free home energy assessments nearby. Some calls ring out, others I answer, but it’s obvious they’re just following a script. Whenever I try to ask something or have a chat, they ignore me and just keep going with their lines. Then they end the call abruptly! I have no idea what the point of these calls is or who profits from it, but it’s happening more and more. I've tried reporting it to the TPS, but they say they can’t take action without knowing the company name or address.

Absolute scammers from Green Carbon Energy Systems! The first guy I spoke to couldn’t even get their company name right or tell me their address. As soon as I started asking questions, he quickly passed me onto his supervisor, who was clearly coaching him step-by-step through the call. When I demanded proper company info, they asked why I wanted it, then just slammed the phone down. The nervous lad accidentally let slip an address - 92 Elen (Royd) Lane, Halifax - which I looked up and it's just a farm! Total con artists.
