Just as I was about to ask how they had my phone number, the line went dead. Sounds like a typical energy scam to me.

Got a call from someone pretending to be a technician offering to do an energy survey for insulation tomorrow nearby. When I told her I wasn’t interested in a time slot, she quite nicely just ended the call.

Had a call from someone saying they were doing energy checks as part of a government scheme. They asked if a morning or afternoon slot would suit for a survey. Honestly, would you really open your door to someone who rings out of the blue with such a vague excuse? It’s worrying, especially with energy costs being through the roof, that some folks might agree to this without thinking. You never know what their real intentions are.

On the 22nd of October 2021, my elderly and vulnerable parents got a call out of the blue from some company trying to flog solar panels. Their house is a grade 1 listed building, so installing panels isn’t even allowed. They were told someone would come by on Monday the 24th to pick up a deposit, but we cancelled it. I’m pretty sure they’ll keep hassling. I don’t know how they got the phone number since they already knew the address. The firm was called something like Pixaway or Pixabay.
