Today, I received a telephone call from a particular number, asserting that I was eligible for a refund of 200 pounds. The person on the other end requested me to access my computer. They had a foreign accent and there seemed to be a significant amount of noise in the background, possibly originating from children. Sensing something amiss, I promptly ended the call. However, they persistently called back on three separate occasions.

Earlier today, I received a phone call from a certain number informing me that I was eligible for a refund of 200 pounds. The caller requested me to access my computer. However, due to the individual's foreign accent and the continuous background noise, which may have included sounds of children, I decided to end the call. Surprisingly, the person called me back three more times.

It’s almost always an Asian guy calling, asking me all sorts of questions. I never bother giving them any answers and have told them to leave me alone plenty of times. But they just keep calling! If I knew exactly where these calls were coming from, I’d definitely pay them a visit and see how they feel about being bothered in person!

Scam alert. They claimed there was a fault with BT causing problems with our line. I mentioned we don’t even have BT and they quickly changed their story. Definitely seems like a call from some dodgy Asian call centre.

I've stopped answering my landline when it rings nowadays. Instead, I dial 1471 to check which number called. I've noticed that this particular number has been calling repeatedly. In the past, I've answered the phone and usually encountered someone with an Indian accent claiming there's a problem with my computer or pretending to be from BT. It has become quite bothersome as I've missed important calls due to these nuisances.

Got calls from this number saying they’re from BT about internet problems, but it’s definitely not BT. When I asked them to give my BT account number, the line just went dead straight away. Been getting a few calls from these people recently, sometimes a guy, sometimes a woman, both with Asian accents.

Some bloke called, said his name was David from BT, and told me someone was using our internet and spying on all our online activity. I told him we don’t even have BT as our provider, and he said it was because our provider uses BT’s cables so they were getting alerts about someone using our connection. I told him it sounded dodgy and he just hung up on me.

I received a call from a woman with an accent who claimed to be from the BT technical department. She informed me that my Internet had been hacked and was at risk of viruses. Got a call from someone with an Indian accent, claiming to be from BT, saying there was an issue with my internet and it would be cut off. I asked, “Is this some kind of scam?” He denied it, saying “No, why would you think that?” I replied, “Well, you sound Indian, and from what I know, a lot of these calls are dodgy. Plus, this number has loads of complaints about it.” He got annoyed and said, “You can’t speak to me like that.” I just told him, “Actually, I can.” Then he ended the call. Proper idiots. I’ve gone ahead and blocked the number now.

I own a telephone with call screening features. If your number is not saved in my phonebook, you will hear a recorded message asking you to state your name after the tone in order to be connected. Only genuine callers who provide their name will make my telephone ring. At that point, I answer the call, listen to the caller, and decide whether I want to take it by pressing number 1. If I don't want to take it, I cancel the call. This phone has been the best purchase I've ever made because I never receive unwanted calls. I can easily see if someone has attempted to reach me as it leaves a footprint on my calls list and displays the telephone number. I hope this information is helpful to you.

Got a call from some Asian woman claiming she was with British Telecom and before she could finish, I said "Seriously? Received a call on 19.1.17 at 8.15am from someone saying they were from BT, claiming there was an issue with my internet. I didn't want to talk so I said I'd call back. When I tried, the number didn’t work. So I contacted BT Customer Services, and they told me no one from BT had called me that day and my internet was fine. I gave them the number the caller used, and their Fraud Team is looking into it now. Just found out about this website and glad to see others got the same call - looks like we all spotted it was a scam. Makes me wonder how many people fell for it though.

Got a call from a woman with an Indian accent, said she was ringing from BT about a virus on my computer. She even knew my name, but I told her we don’t use BT for anything, so how could there be alerts about my PC? When I asked for her name and number, she said Chloe Decker (pronounced like décor) and gave a phone number 2031293145, but when I checked the last caller number with 1471, it showed 01391 735842 instead. She totally lost her cool when I suggested it was a scam and asked for her manager. Eventually, I had to hang up because she couldn’t answer back!

These sophisticated individuals from other countries can be quite persistent. Even if you hang up the phone on them, they won't take the hint and continue bothering you. What is the solution? I would greatly appreciate any good suggestions on how to handle this issue. Surely, we can find a way to overcome this problem. Let's join forces, people, and collectively find a way to stop these annoying individuals and have them rightfully imprisoned.

This bloke Andrew claiming to be from BT rang me. I let him have his spiel. He said he was with BT and would disconnect my internet in a couple of hours because there was a virus slowing my computer down. He asked me to get on my PC so his 'tech team' could help get rid of the virus by installing some software. At that point, I’d had enough and told him my PC had a picture of him being taken by a massive bull, then he ended the call. He said BT would cut my internet for not cooperating.

They rang me 5 times in just 5 minutes today. My autistic son picked up twice but didn’t get what they were saying and they just ended the call. Then my partner answered and she was shouted at and hung up. On the fifth call, I picked up and got all kinds of abuse aimed at my son and partner. It’s horrible behaviour and honestly these people should face legal action for harrassment. It’s really frustrating there’s no free way to block numbers through my provider without paying extra.

I receive phone calls almost every day which are usually from individuals with Asian or Indian accents. They always claim to be calling regarding my Windows computer or from Windows support. It appears to be an automated dialer as there is always a pause before they begin speaking. I can also hear many voices in the background, indicating that it is a call center. It would be greatly appreciated if someone could share a solution to stop these unwanted calls.

Today I got a call from a woman with an Indian accent claiming to be Janet from Microsoft tech support. I told her the police were getting reports of these calls and hung up. This was the third time today they’d rung me - every morning a bloke saying he’s John from Microsoft Windows support. It began on Monday from the number 00192854071 so I quickly figured it was dodgy, even asked if they wanted to buy my PC. Same grumpy voice each day, switching between John and Jake. I’m going to report them to the national fraud centre now.

I’ve been getting calls from this outfit for over 3 years now, and it’s obvious they’re faking their caller ID. Most times I just don’t answer, but when I’m feeling cheeky, I mess about with them a bit. Just a heads up, if you ever actually pay for anything from them, you can always dispute the charge with PayPal or your bank. They usually give you a full refund and go after these scammers.

Today, on 19th January 2017, we received a call from an unknown number, claiming that someone from Nigeria was using our IP address. They requested my husband to sit at the computer and assist them. However, we were skeptical as we didn't have anything turned on and decided not to proceed as it didn't sound authentic. I took over the call and asked for clarification on their website address and company name. Interestingly, the man mentioned 'teamviewer.com'. Suspicious of this claim, I decided to investigate further by searching for the website myself. To my surprise, the search affirmed my doubts. I appreciate the assistance from this site a lot. Thank you for providing validation!

Got a call from a lady with an Indian accent, real polite, claiming she was from BT. She said someone abroad was using our email for banking stuff without permission. I knew it was dodgy straight away, so I told her I'd check it out with my husband later. Then she just dropped it. Total waste of time.

Really glad I signed up for Call Guardian - this number rang and I just happened to be close by. Big thanks to everyone who's reported it and confirmed it’s a SCAM.

This number belongs to an Asian call centre, you can hear loads of people in the background pushing the exact same scam about fixing your PC. They claim to be from Microsoft and say they’ve found issues on your computer. I played along on the call till I was certain they wanted to get remote access, then I told them the Police had tracked their call and I was ending the chat.

Honestly, I’d recommend getting a BT Call Guardian handset - defo the best £40 I ever spent. It blocks all international calls and those with hidden numbers, cutting down annoying calls by maybe 90%. If it’s not in your contacts, the caller has to say who they are before you pick up - most don’t bother, so you just block them straight from the caller ID screen. Since I started using it, not one unwanted call has got through.

massive con coming from a country that seems to reckon folks in the UK are daft and as clueless as the people makin' these calls, takin' advantage of old people and those who aren’t great with tech. they really need to just bugger off and figure out that phones and gadgets are meant for good, not for their dodgy schemes.

This number has been ringing me every single day for three days now - I don't have caller ID so I can't just ignore it straight away. What's weird is when I answer and say "Hello" and no one replies right away, but I can hear background noise, I just keep quiet and let them keep saying "Hello" over and over until they give up and hang up. Why is it that even though I've registered with the TPS, these calls keep coming through??

Somebody with an Indian accent claimed to be from BT tech support and said they wanted to fix my internet. They told me to log into TeamViewer, which I did at first, but then I started feeling iffy so I ended the session and hung up. After that, they kept ringing me like 7 times but I just didn’t answer.

Got a call from someone claiming they were from BT saying there was an issue with my broadband and that it’d be cut off for a week. They asked me to switch off my computer. I told them I don’t even have a computer. Then I asked if this was a scam and said I’d ring BT myself. They insisted it wasn’t a scam and asked why I was talking to them. I just told them they were the ones who called me.

This 01391735842 number keeps ringing me a lot, and I just don’t get why. I use call guardian, which means callers gotta say who they are, then I decide if I wanna pick up. But this lot never bother giving their name, so the call never reaches me. All I see is that number popping up again and again on my caller ID. Why on earth do they keep trying if they know they won’t get through? It's honestly pretty annoying for everyone, I’m sure. Call guardian has honestly been a lifesaver.

Got a call on the morning of 17th Jan 2017. A woman with a thick Asian accent said she was from BT Tech support about some "strange internet stuff". She said her name was 'Jane'. She did know my postcode but when I asked for my name she gave me a totally wrong one. When I told her I thought it was a scam she just hung up.

Some bloke named Max rang me saying he was from Windows. He claimed my PC was sending risky emails or something. Told me to sit at my computer, but I've had dodgy calls like this before so I just messaged along. He asked what key comes next to Alt, like he was testing me or summat. Then he called me a liar because he reckoned I wasn’t actually at my computer. I told him he was the one lying. How do these muppets get away with it? Bet they’re tricking some poor folks out there.

I received a call from an Indian woman who claimed that someone was using my IP address overseas. She identified herself as a representative from BT and requested me to sit in front of my computer so she could guide me through troubleshooting steps. However, I raised my concerns and informed her that I would personally contact BT to verify this information. After hearing that, she politely bid me farewell before ending the call.

I received a phone call from a gentleman who spoke with an Asian accent, claiming to be from BT. However, I immediately responded with, 'No, you're not', and promptly ended the call. My suspicions were aroused because I recently heard on a radio show called Money Box, that a woman fell for a similar scam. She had received a call that she believed was from BT and entered a banking code into her computer as instructed by the supposed 'BT' representative. Unfortunately, she later discovered that thousands of pounds had been systematically stolen from her bank account over the course of three days. It was clear to me that the caller was attempting a scam.

This number kept ringing me nonstop for weeks, so I finally answered today and instantly regretted it. Some Asian bloke claimed to be from the BT tech team and said there was an issue with my connection. I told him I couldn't hear properly and went quiet. Then he weirdly asked if I liked messing around with my husband. I told him I was recording the convo and hung up straight away. He called back four times right after. Proper unsettling! A guy with an Asian accent rang me about 8.20 this morning saying that even though my internet seemed fine, there was some issue with someone downloading harmful files while I was online, and that my personal info might be at risk. Got a call today from someone claiming to be from Windows, saying my computer was downloading harmful files whenever I used the internet. They wanted me to sign in so they could sort out the issues.
