01391735841 Summary (Read all comments)

Phone number ☎️ 01391735841 πŸ‘† is reported as a persistent scam number frequently impersonating BT or Microsoft. Callers, often with South Asian accents, falsely claim users’ internet or email security is compromised, urging access to computers or sensitive information. Many report silent calls, hang-ups when questioned, or aggressive behaviour when scepticism is expressed. Attempts to provide credentials or verify genuine identity are invariably unsuccessful. The calls often occur early morning, generating annoyance and alarm. Registered Telephone Preference Service users still experience these nuisance calls. Recipients are advised not to engage, avoid providing details, and consider blocking the number. Reports indicate no legitimate connection to BT or official technical support, confirming this as a fraudulent operation targeting vulnerable users.

This number has called me like five times already! Whenever I pick up, I just say "hello" and they start jabbering nonstop. I keep quiet, not saying a word, and then they just hang up abruptly! The first time, the caller said his name was Michael and spoke with an Asian accent, but I couldn't catch a word he was saying. I kept asking him to repeat himself, and then he suddenly ended the call!

I've received calls from this number about six times now. Luckily, my call blocker stopped them from reaching me. Appreciate the confirmation that it wasn't anything important!

Got a call around 8:35, and the noise in the background was awful. Some Indian lady claimed to be from BT tech support and told me my internet was getting hacked every night at midnight. She kept going on and on, and that’s when I figured out it was a scam. I just ended the call.

Got called again for the third time today, pretty much the same thing. This time it was a woman, sounded Asian, saying she was from BT and that there was an issue with my internet connection. Total scam, don’t fall for it.

I got a call today from this number saying they were with BT and that my internet would be cut off tomorrow. It's the second time I’ve been called today, but both calls came from different numbers. Pretty sure it's a scam, but it's really irritating.

Got a call from a woman with an Indian accent claiming to be from BT, saying they were about to cut off our internet. I told her we don’t have BT, trying to end the call, but she kept going anyway. I just hung up on her. Definitely a scam.

Got calls from the same number a couple of times today, saying my internet would be switched off right away because of some issues with my computer. They said they were from BT but refused to give me an email to prove it. I told them I don’t even use BT, so how could they cut me off? In the end, I blasted some really loud music down the phone. They just hung up. Definitely a dodgy scam.

I got the same kind of call like loads of other people. It’s so frustrating that BT or TPS don’t block this number, it’s clearly a scam trying to bug everyone.

SCAM alert! This number 01391735841 called me pretending to be from BT. They said BT never calls customers directly. As soon as I questioned them, the caller just hung up suddenly. A while back I almost fell for a similar trick where they claimed I had a refund because of poor service. They asked me to log into my online banking and tell them when the funds showed up. Luckily I got suspicious straight away and shut my laptop down before anything happened.

Likely a dodgy call, very silent on the line, and then just a curt "Goodbye". This sort of behaviour typically signals a follow-up from the same number, which I've frequently found to be a scammer at work.

Got a call from a woman speaking with an Asian accent. She kept insisting she was from BT, but I wasn’t convinced at all. When I said I didn’t believe her, she tried to convince me by saying she’d give me her BT staff ID and phone number. I just told her I’d end the call and put the phone down.

At around 7:35 this morning, I got a call from a woman with an Indian accent claiming she was from BT tech support. It was pretty annoying considering how early it was, made me worry something was wrong with my family. I tried calling her back but the number was unreachable. Luckily, I'm signed up with TPS.

This number kept ringing my work phone quite a few times today. I couldn't pick up two calls cause I was busy with clients, and the one time I did, they just went quiet and ended the call. I checked the number with 1471 and got this info!

Got a call from a woman speaking with an Indian accent, said she was calling from BT and wanted to check on my internet. I told her I didn’t have any internet service and she just ended the call. Then, yesterday, some bloke rang me up real pushy, saying my router was messing everything up and that my internet would be cut off soon. I told him I was about to head out for work and couldn’t chat. No shocker, when I got back home after 6 hours, my internet was running fine. The first number she called from started with 053787.

Got a call just before 10 this morning from a woman with an Indian accent saying she was calling from BT about an issue with our router. I told her straight away I knew it was a scam and ended the call. I want to report that number (01391 735841) to BT but can’t seem to find where on their site to do it. We’re signed up with the Telephone Preference Service, but reporting dodgy calls to them is a real faff and not very straightforward.

A bloke rang saying he was calling from BT, asking for Mrs W---. Since I’m not married to my partner, I explained there’s no one here by that name. As soon as I gave him my own name, he just ended the call. I tried ringing back, but the number wouldn’t come up on my phone.

Got a ring around 9.20 this morning but no one answered and then the call just dropped. We had the same thing yesterday with a woman speaking with an Indian accent saying she was from BT and that someone was 'trying to hack our broadband'... sounded fishy straight away. I had a rather rude awakening at half past six today when a woman with an Indian accent called me up. She went on about how someone had compromised our internet and insisted it needed to be switched off. When I questioned her about waking us at such an unsociable hour, she abruptly ended the call. Quite bizarre!

WATCH OUT: They say they're from microsoft, but it's just a trick. Never let them into your computer by doing what they say. And don’t pay them for fixing a "problem" that’s not even real.

Some bloke with an Indian accent rang me claiming he was from Microsoft saying my computer had an issue. I said, “Oh really, have I?” Then he told me to switch on my PC and describe what was on the screen. I said the usual stuff I always see. Then he kept asking about some detail, obviously getting annoyed. I told him it was just a lovely pic of my family, and also that this was the second time he’d called me. Told him to jog on or I’d report him to the police. After that, he started babbling in some language I didn’t get and then hung up!

My landline went off around 12:23 and some chap with an accent just said hello. I just hung up straight away. I'm really fed up with these calls where no one's actually there when you pick up, and using 1471 never shows who was calling. This usually happens about 9 in the morning too, so now I just let the answerphone get it and most times they hang up once my message starts playing.

I got a call from a woman with an Indian accent claiming to be from BT, saying they'd noticed some issues with my internet. She asked how many gadgets were hooked up to my router. When I said none, she seemed to get a bit puzzled. I also mentioned that I was actually with Sky and told her I'd contact them instead. The call went quiet, and I think she hung up after I said I’d call BT myself to make sure it wasn’t some dodgy scam haha.

I just had a call from someone with an Indian accent who was really pushy. He claimed there were issues with my BT router and said it would get disconnected unless I did exactly what he said. Seems like this is their new trick instead of the usual Microsoft tech support scam. I told him to get lost, and he actually sounded a bit upset.

I got a call from a guy with an Indian accent who said he was from BT tech support. He told me there was some problem with my internet, said hackers were messing with my broadband, and asked if my internet was running fine. To sound legit, he gave me some kind of code, like 888dca60, and claimed it'd show up on my bill. Then he started pushing me to get on my computer to visit some website or something, but I just hung up when I mentioned I was using a Mac. He muttered “oh, just a minute” before I put the phone down.
