The caller's number came up as being from Bishops Stortford. He claimed to be representing O2 and mentioned a 30% reduction on my plan. I expressed my doubts about the legitimacy of the call, which led him to transfer me to another person who regurgitated the same discount nonsense. When I pressed him on why I would be eligible for such a reduction, he mentioned that due to a rise in complaints to O2, they were extending this offer to 'selected customers'. He assured me that I wouldn’t have to share any personal information, as he intended to send me two text messages instead. At this juncture, I realised I had squandered enough of our time, so I told him to shove off and hung up.

I've been bombarded by calls from numerous folks claiming to be from "phonehouse." Just today, I received a couple of calls in quick succession, one of which was a pitch for an iPhone 13 mini at a mere £15 per month. I pointed out that I could snag a complimentary iPhone 13 Pro Max with a Happy Meal from McDonald's, and they promptly ended the conversation 😂.
