I just put the phone down as soon as I picked up.

I got a call from 0121 681 3300 and 01279 906017 where the caller said HMRC were looking into me for tax fraud. Problem is, I work full-time and all my tax is sorted straight from my paycheck anyway. Luckily, I checked this site first and found out these numbers were dodgy. When I told them I knew something wasn’t right, they just hung up on me.

Got a call from someone saying they were with my mobile company Three. They asked me whether I had an iPhone or a Samsung, but if they worked for Three, they should already know my phone type. Their English was really bad and they seemed clueless, so I just ended the call.

On 11th March '22 around 1:42pm I got a call from 01279 906017. It felt a bit fishy so I just ignored it. Saw loads of folks searching this number too now. Probably one of those annoying spam or scam calls, or something dodgy like that. Better safe than sorry with these types of calls!

Then they said they wanted to be friends or something. Never share any of your info with them. When they rang me up trying to push an upgrade even though I’ve had my phone less than a year, I put them on a 3-way call with Carphone Warehouse. Turns out, they are some scammers based in India and have no real connection to your network provider - otherwise, they’d have all the details about your contract length and start date at their fingertips. Watch out for these lot!

They usually ring up wanting a chat if you’re free to talk. BEWARE though, they might try to get your bank details, sort code and all that jazz.

I was a bit confused when they told me I had to give all my info just to be switched to the new deal with a phone for £45, which they said they’d pay back.
