I just put the phone down as soon as I picked up.

I got a call from 0121 681 3300 and 01279 906017 where the caller said HMRC were looking into me for tax fraud. Problem is, I work full-time and all my tax is sorted straight from my paycheck anyway. Luckily, I checked this site first and found out these numbers were dodgy. When I told them I knew something wasn’t right, they just hung up on me.

Received a call purporting to be from Three, my mobile network. They inquired whether I was using an iPhone or a Samsung. I thought it a bit odd since surely, if they were truly Three, they'd already have my details. The caller's English was rather subpar, which made me even more suspicious, so I decided to cut the conversation short and hang up. Absolutely dreadful!

On 11th March '22 around 1:42pm I got a call from 01279 906017. It felt a bit fishy so I just ignored it. Saw loads of folks searching this number too now. Probably one of those annoying spam or scam calls, or something dodgy like that. Better safe than sorry with these types of calls!

Steer clear of sharing any personal information with them! I found myself in a bit of a tricky situation when they attempted to upsell me on an upgrade, despite the fact that I’ve only had my current phone for under a year. Out of sheer curiosity, I added them to a call with Carphone Warehouse, and, lo and behold, it turned out these folks were nothing more than scammers operating out of India. They clearly had no ties to my actual provider, as they were asking for details about my contract duration and start date, which a legitimate representative would know right off the bat. Exercise caution, everyone!
