She kept saying she didn’t need my bank info but wanted to verify some details before sending the documents. At first I was a bit thrown because I already have a legit policy and usually have to ring them up myself to sort any discounts. Feels like a sneaky scam to me - probably trying to get someone to agree over the phone so they’ll be expecting paperwork with their bank info on it later.

Got a call from a bloke claiming he sells second-hand Hotpoint washing machines that were repaired after a fire and supposedly part of some recall. I told him no way. Then he switched to trying to sell me used dinghies, said they’d been seized by the border police in Dover, offering a batch of 30 for £5k. The guy just rattled on so quick it was like listening to a machine gun stutter. Hung up sharpish. Total con artist.
