This Service Home Plan called my mum, who’s quite old, and somehow convinced her to start a direct debit for £349, supposedly for appliances. They said it was a special discount from a policy she supposedly had last year, but she never had any policy then. Bit dodgy if you ask me.

Got a call at around 11:45 on a weekend during lockdown, from an elderly sounding man with a UK accent. He said his name was Stanley and was supposed to be selling household appliances. I tried to get a word in but he just kept chatting over me, so I ended the call. Really pushy and quite rude.

Got a call from this number but didn’t answer since it looked unfamiliar. They didn’t even bother leaving a message. Just a load of time-wasting scammers if you ask me.

Got a call on my home phone from a guy saying he was with Sky. He tried to tell me my insurance had run out. I do have Sky but no extra insurance with them. Told him it sounded like a scam and ended the call straight away. The number he used was 012730655216.

I received a couple of calls today from the number 01273655216. The caller was a very articulate and assertive lady who seemed quite self-assured, almost a bit too forceful for my liking. She had my name, phone number (naturally), and even our address, which put me on alert straight away. She claimed to be representing Services Home Plan Domestic Appliances, stating that our appliance insurance-covering our washing machine, fridge, and so on-had lapsed. The thing is, we don’t actually have any such insurance, although Domestic and General have definitely attempted to sell us a policy in the past, as we do have other insurance products with them. Quite the cheeky maneuver, I must say!

Got a really pushy and rude call around half eleven on a weekend during lockdown. An older bloke with a British accent said his name was Stanley and wanted to talk about some home appliances. Tried to get a word in but he just kept blabbing away, so I just hung up. Proper annoying.

Somebody called me pretending to be Olivia from Domestic and General Appliance, telling me my cover for the fridge and washing machine had run out. Thing is, we never had any such cover in the first place. What’s really worrying is that they already know my address and my name!

Got a call supposedy from domestic appliances but it was actually Domestic & General. Tried pushing a 3 year plan for my washing machine and said it would save me money. I told em I don’t trust calls like that and asked for brochures or paperwork instead. They kept pushing hard so I just ended the call. These days you gotta be careful, there’s too many dodgy callers about. Don’t really know who to trust anymore, it’s proper rough out there.

The voice on the end sounded like it came from a call centre using an auto dialler, and you had to wait awhile before anyone actually spoke. I got a call from someone named Anne Warren, claiming to be from a warranty firm. She asked if I was satisfied with my washing machine and mentioned that since I was supposedly a customer, they could give me a discount. I asked her to name the brand of my machine, but she didn’t know. Then I asked how she had my details, and she said they’d received a list from the old warranty company and were simply taking over their customers. After that, she didn’t provide any more info!

Got a phone call from someone claiming to be from Domestic Appliance Care or Appliances Care - I can't remember if he said the name with an ‘s’ or not - trying to renew cover for my Washing Machine and Fridge Freezer. He sounded quite legit and even mentioned he’d ring back so I could check my policy papers first. I did a quick search and there’s definitely a company called Domestic Appliance Care online, so I was a bit confused. But after looking up his phone number, I saw these reviews, so be careful with this one!

I got a call from some guy with a really bad connection and a strange accent. He said he was calling from "Only Protect", something about insuring my white goods. Thing is, I never took out insurance for my white goods, only my house insurance covers everything. I told him to remove me from their list and then the call just cut off.
