Got called by some Indian guys saying they were from care phone warehouse, but honestly it felt like they were just messing about. In less than a minute, I got passed between three different people! When I told them I didn’t believe who they said they were, they started acting all rude and then just slammed the phone down on me. Proper dodgy behaviour.

I received a rather dubious call, claiming to be from a magistrates' court. Initially, a robotic voice provided me with a case reference number. Once a human got on the line, they promptly asked for my surname, followed by prying into my employment status and monthly income. Shortly thereafter, the line went dead, and when I attempted to return the call, there was no response whatsoever. Feeling unease, I decided to do some digging online regarding the number, and given the court's affiliation, I contacted the local magistrates' court directly. They kindly checked my information and reassured me that there was no record associated with it. Ultimately, they informed me that it was indeed a scam and advised me to remain cautious in the future.

This is definitely a SCAM! Make sure you report every suspicious call or message on the police fraud website. Just search ‘action fraud’ and head over to ‘police.uk’. Find the page for ‘reporting phishing attempts’ and make sure to read all the info there first. Then enter all the details about the scam, including any links or websites involved. You don’t need to sign up or give personal info unless you’ve lost money to the scam. The police can only get a full picture of these scams if everyone reports them.

There’s a couple of threads here about how to put an end to these scam calls. It’s not gonna be easy, but I’ve managed to keep on top of it by reporting every dodgy call and text to the police database (got the link bookmarked). Thing is, it’ll need tens of thousands of us doing the same before they actually act. Loads of folks report scams here daily, yet nothing really changes. Heard back from my MP too, which was alright, but honestly, it needs way more than just me kicking up a fuss before anything shifts.
