Got a call from someone with an Indian accent claiming to be from O2, saying they were giving discounts and AirPods for being a loyal customer. Right after the call finished, I got a text saying my O2 account password was changed. Had to ring O2 to sort it out and also contact my bank to block my card. Proper scam, watch out!

I've shared a couple of tips below on how to try and block these scam calls for good. It does take some work, but I've set up a system and regularly report dodgy calls and messages to the police database (I keep the link bookmarked). Problem is, it needs loads of people doing this before they actually take action. Every day, thousands are reporting scam calls here, but change is slow. I even got a reply from my MP, which was quite interesting, but honestly, one person asking won’t shift much - we need way more folks to speak up.

TOTALLY A SCAM! Make sure you report any suspicious calls straight to the police fraud system. Just search for ‘action fraud’ and visit the ‘police.uk’ website. Find the section for ‘report a phishing attempt’ and take a moment to read everything there. After that, provide all the details about the scam, including any web links or email addresses. You don’t need to sign up or give any personal info. Reporting these scams is really the only way the cops can get a grip on how bad these dodgy calls and texts are getting.
