About the post from 11/05, that person prob got some kind of malware on their phone. These scammers can see everything, like all their texts and other info stored on the phone. If they do any online banking or shopping, the scammers could easily swipe their bank or credit card info.

Received a call earlier where the person asked if my day was going well before pitching some supposedly fantastic offer from O2. Odd, considering I'm actually with BT! When I brought up that I'm on the TPS list and shouldn’t be receiving such calls, she rather condescendingly said I must have given them my number willingly. I told her she was talking nonsense, firmly asked her to never contact me again, and warned her that I’d be reporting the number to Action Fraud UK. Spoke to a young woman with an Indian accent who said she was from Curry’s PC world. She was asking loads of questions, all of which I just made up answers for. At one point, she offered me the same phone I mentioned for £35 a month on Vodafone, then later switched it to a £15 monthly SIM-only deal. I kept her on the line as long as possible, and she eventually twigged I wasn’t going to bite, wished me a good day and hung up. Very polite throughout… but definitely felt a bit sketchy.

SCAM PHONE DEAL ALERT. Always report any dodgy calls or texts straight to the police fraud team. Just search ‘action fraud’ on Google and head to the ‘police.uk’ site. Find the ‘report phishing’ section and make sure you read all the advice there. Then fill out the scam report form with as much info as you can, including links or website addresses if you’ve got them. You don’t need to sign up or give personal details unless you’ve actually lost money to a scam. The only way the cops can track these con attempts is if we all report them, so make sure you do!
