Got a call from someone with an Indian accent claiming to be from O2, saying I qualified for a discount and some free AirPods for being a loyal customer. They had loads of my info and sounded really convincing, asked how my O2 service was and wanted me to do a survey after. I stupidly gave my card details to pay for the AirPods. As soon as the call finished, I got a text saying my O2 account password had been changed. I had to ring O2 to sort it out and contact my bank to cancel my card and all that.

I just had a dodgy phone call moments ago (27th April 2022, around half past twelve). The caller was a woman with a thick foreign accent, sounding as if she was ringing from overseas, trying to entice me with some discount on my bill. When I quizzed her about her location, she simply stated 'Europe.' I pressed her for the specific country, and then she abruptly cut the line. Very suspicious!

Got a call from an Indian bloke with a really thick accent pretending to be someone from 02 with a name that sounds proper Celtic (could’ve made it sound more real tho). He was offering me 30% off my 02 bill. I said I wasn’t bothered, but he just kept going on about how great the new bill price was. After telling him again I wasn’t interested, I ended the call. Then he rang me back from a number that was almost the same straight after. Watch out, they seem to use several numbers that look alike.

Got a very clear Asian accent bloke claiming to be from Car Phone Warehouse trying to sell me cheap SIM-only deals. I asked if he could send the details by email, thinking it’d scare him off but surprisingly he did. He rang back the next day, which is unusual, but I told him I’d call tomorrow. When I checked the email, it was from @carsphonewarehouse.com - didn’t spot the extra ‘s’ at first. Then I googled the number and found loads of comments warning about it. Ready to give him a proper earful if he rings again!

Just received a rather dodgy call from this number, claiming to be from Currys and offering me a shiny new iPhone 13 Pro Max. They promised to take care of my current contract and even dispatch the phone by tomorrow! They managed to get hold of my bank information, but when they pressed for my card details, I couldn't shake off the feeling that something was off, so I declined to share that info. I did a bit of digging here and discovered it’s all a scam. Scary stuff!

The call showed up as Aldershot. The person sounded like they had an Indian accent and there was loads of background noise, maybe from a busy street. They said they were from Carphone Warehouse. It all felt kinda sketchy. Might even be unsafe, seemed pretty annoying too.

As per usual, no response from this number, which leads me to think it might be yet another dodgy platform or a scammer. From what I've gathered in the comments, it seems quite likely. If a call were genuinely important, the caller would surely leave a message. I've gone ahead and blocked this number!

I missed the call originally, so I tried returning it three times, but each time it rang for a bit before cutting off completely. Curiously, about an hour later, I received another call from 00 42 2035 339863. The chap on the other end had a pronounced Indian accent and was pushing for a sale on an iPhone. It sounded very much like the experiences shared by others here.
