I just received a call from someone pretending to be a BT technician-definitely a scam.

I got a call from some Indian call centre pretending to be from Carphone Warehouse. Their number showed up as Bangor, Wales but their strong Indian accents gave them away straight away. I told them I knew they were scammers and wasn’t very polite about it, calling him some nasty names. He just replied with “so?” Surprisingly, he rang me back later so I could have another go at giving him a piece of my mind!

Got a missed call at around 4:18pm but no voicemail was left. From what I’ve read here, seems like another broadband or internet scam. Didn’t bother calling back.

Got a call from a bloke saying he was with Virgin Media, saying there was an issue with my internet. This has happened before and I thought it stopped, but they've started up again. I've actually checked with Virgin Media directly, and they told me they wouldn’t ring me about internet problems unless I got in touch with them first. So yeah, definitely not from Virgin Media.

Got a call from this number but they didn’t leave any message or say who it was. After seeing what others have said about it here, I’ve blocked it straight away. This is the second dodgy call I’ve had today, although I usually just ignore calls from numbers I don’t know.

Got a call from a bloke with an accent claiming to be from Carphone Warehouse. He asked me what kind of phone I used, like if it was a Samsung or an iPhone. I just ended the call straight away since I don’t entertain strange calls I didn’t ask for.

Got a call from this number but no idea who it is. Left a recorded message saying I supposedly missed a call from BT internet, warning that my connection would be disconnected within 12 to 24 hours because of some "unauthorised activity." Honestly, I can’t see how that would be possible since I don’t share any bank details online and I’m the only one who uses my computer. Plus, I don’t even have a smart meter set up. Quite fishy, if you ask me.

This number calls me multiple times daily, claiming to be from Carphone Warehouse. At first, the man with an Indian accent sounded quite polite, but once I told him my number was on the TPS and I'd already complained about the constant calls, he turned rude fast. He started making disgusting sexual comments like asking if I wanted to sleep with him, and it went downhill from there until I just ended the call. Seriously, I wouldn’t pick up if I were you.
