Got a call earlier from someone claiming to be from motor claims. They said I’d been in a minor crash within the past two years and could get up to £2500 for any uninsured damages and hassle. It sounded fishy to me, but I wasn’t totally sure. I made sure not to give them any info! When I asked for a callback number, the person had to check with their manager and that was enough for me to just end the call. Dodged a bullet there, I reckon!

Got a call from someone saying they were from Motor Investigations in "Manchester United" - sounded dodgy straight away. They started off insisting they knew about a car accident I’d supposedly had, citing insurance renewals and some 'panel of solicitors'. Then they tried to casually ask if the accident actually happened, like trying to trick me or something. When I pressed them on where they got their info from, they got all defensive. They wanted loads of personal details, but I weren’t having any of it. Didn’t give them a single thing. Definitely felt like an ambulance chasing con.

Received a call from someone claiming they were aware of my participation in an incident based on my insurance renewal and a panel of solicitors. They proceeded to inquire whether I had indeed been involved in any such matter. Initially, they were quite courteous, but when I pressed for more information, their tone shifted to one of irritation. Clearly a scam. I hung up and promptly added them to my blocked numbers list.

Received a rather dubious call from a gentleman with an Asian accent who rambled on about some supposed inquiry regarding a recent vehicle accident (which, by the way, was a minor affair and sorted out through the insurers). I received a rather peculiar call from some auto assistance outfit, claiming they had some information about an accident sent over by my insurance company. To be quite frank, I've never even set foot behind the wheel of a car. When I requested them to take my number off their list, they said it wasn’t possible. Ridiculous! I promptly ended the call and added them to my blocked numbers. What’s more, they’ve been ringing me from multiple phone numbers-I've now counted three separate lines from this so-called auto assistance. It’s becoming rather tiresome, so I just keep putting them on the blacklist.

I had a rather dodgy experience with this Birmingham number today (21/11/16). My mobile rang, and upon seeing the number, I thought it best to return the call using a work landline. To my surprise, a recorded voice greeted me, stating, "Thank you for reaching Auto Assist. One of our agents attempted to contact you earlier but had no luck. They'll get back to you. To opt out, please press 1." Quite the cheek, if you ask me! I’m on the Telephone Preference Service, but it seems to hold little weight. A quick search on Google didn’t yield any relevant details about this purported Birmingham Company. Take my word for it: just block this number!
