This afternoon, I've had a bunch of calls from this number on my landline - about five times! I’m on the ex-directory list, mind you. Every time I pick up, nothing but quiet, then some recorded message about Alex from the solar place. Such a hassle!

I've been getting calls from someone named Alex at the Solar Centre, like two or three times daily. Every time, I just block the number and ignore it. One time I actually answered to see who it was, but I didn’t say anything and just ended the call. The number always starts with 012021 431, but the last two digits keep swapping around. I’m definitely not interested in solar panels or any other offers, but even if I was, I wouldn’t buy something over the phone like that.

Some fella called Alex, sounded really polite but he said he was with something called the Solar Centre, offering to put solar panels on my house if I joined other local folks. When I asked how he even got my number, he clammed up and didn’t answer. I then mentioned I’m on the Telephone Preference Service list and he just ended the call.

They asked when I last used the internet and how many gadgets were linked to it. I asked them to prove who they were and who they wanted to speak with, but they went quiet. So, I just ended the call and blocked the number.

When we mentioned that we're over 75, they just ended the call. A few days ago on 23/04/21, a number from Daventry, 01327222552, rang us about a possible government grant for a new boiler, and said they’d call back - feels like it was the same lot today. Honestly, they don’t come across as legit at all - seems like a dodgy scam to me.

Got a call from some bloke about loft insulation and energy savings. He was talking super quick, barely letting me get a word in. When I mentioned our loft is a nesting spot for protected bats and it’s illegal to disturb them right now, he kinda stuttered and didn’t have a reply. He was quite pushy and didn’t want to give up easily.

They claimed to be from Reading but the phone number showed a Poole area code, which seemed odd. Even though I never replied to any of their questions, they acted like I had.
