I’m up in north Nottinghamshire, so I thought that was a bit odd for a “local.” I told him I was knackered and maybe needed a bit of energy myself, so what could he suggest? This guy called saying he worked for the local power company and kept grilling me about the insulation in my loft. Then he asked if I was between 45 and 85 years old or older. He promised a free survey, after which he’d recommend a supplier for me to think about. He said he was putting my info into his system, but I noticed he hadn’t even asked for my phone number yet. When I asked him about it, he said he had to check with his supervisor because he was still new at the job. I told him to get lost.

Like others have said in the reviews here, I got a call from a bloke claiming to be an energy consultant about home insulation. Being a bit wary I asked him for his company’s name, and he just said he was from 'Reading' or somewhere close. Then I pointed out that the number showing up on my phone had a Bournemouth dialling code instead of the usual Reading area code which starts with 01189. Right after that, he hung up on me without a word. Total scammer nonsense!
