When I picked up the phone, there was nothing but silence from the other end. They kept quiet for a bit and then the call just dropped.

Got a call from someone saying he was Chris and was ringing from south London. He mentioned something about knowing I owned the place but when I asked him my name, he didn’t reply. I tried to find out what he wanted but the only thing he said was his name, Chris. This number has called me three times but I missed it as I wasn’t home.

I’ve received calls from this number four times already, spaced out over different days. Quite bizarrely, two of them came in on the very same day, just a couple of hours apart! What’s more peculiar is that the recorded message is precisely identical each time, with deliberate pauses for responses. Clearly, it’s a pre-recorded spiel, and you can respond however you wish, as it’s not an actual conversation. The idea is that you’ll eventually get through to a human being, but only if you manage to provide the correct replies at the right moments! I haven’t managed to reach that point yet, though.
