Heads up - this is most definitely an energy scam. They call multiple times daily, swapping out the last three digits of their phone number every time. So when you block one number, another similar one rings you shortly after, just with those last digits different to trick you. It's relentless and goes on for a good few days. Be careful!

Some bloke called himself Chris and wouldn’t stop going on about how old attic insulation leads to condensation. I couldn’t even get a word out! After a bit, he asked for my last name and I just told him “no.” He then tried to find out how old I was, so I fibbed. After a couple more tries, he gave up. Number’s blocked now.

I can relate entirely - it's happened to me on several occasions as well. The same thing occurred where he just blurted on, not giving me a chance to interject at all. I received a call a few hours back purporting to be from a company specialising in loft insulation. The caller employed some rather alarming psychological tactics, insisting that my current loft insulation was linked to issues like dampness and condensation. They had the audacity to offer a complimentary survey, which typically costs £70-what a stroke of luck! Apparently, it was an exclusive offer for those aged between 50 and 75; they really tried to push me into accepting it. However, when I graciously turned them down, he was courteous enough to wish me a 'good day.'

I received yet another phone call from a chap named Chris - that marks the fourth time in just three days! I've explicitly stated I'm not interested, hung up, and even blocked the number, but somehow he seems to have a new one every few days. When he claimed to be an energy consultant for our area, I assumed he'd at least have the sense to know our postcode, but he ended the call rather abruptly after that. Next time he tries it, I'm ready to give him a jolt with my Acme Thunder Fire Brigade whistle! Trust me, it’s a proper ear-buster-I do beg pardon to anyone in Lincolnshire! This tactic has previously sent away a persistent caller about oven cleaning, so fingers crossed it will do the trick again! 😊
