As soon as I picked up, they just went quiet and ended the call. I tried calling them back, and some guy with an American accent told me to wait for "the next available agent." Had a ring about some attic insulation supposedly put in. The caller said his name was Tom and sounded like a bot, but pretty convincing. He said he was ringing from Reading but when I checked the 1471, the number showed as Bournemouth instead. I tried calling that number back and the answerphone said it was Digital Solutions. Bit confusing and felt dodgy to me.

This number has rung me about four times just today, and it’s been the same every day for the past few days too. I put the first number on my block list, but then the same guy called again from another one. He claimed to be an energy advisor for our area, saying that the energy register showed our house still had the old loft insulation sitting on the loft floor, which apparently causes condensation. I tried cutting him off to ask what this register was all about, but he kept going on and on. When I told him our home was fully refurbished and extended about four years ago, he just hung up.

He was really stubborn, insisting it was fine because it was government funded. I told him that’s not true and there was no way he’d make a sale, and to stop wasting his time and hang up. But he just carried on trying to sell. I had to ask if he was daft and told him not to ring me again. Eventually he gave in and ended the call. At least his accent sounded properly English this time. Being ex-directory and TPS registered, I know those Indian call centres often ignore TPS, but UK companies ought to respect it.

Got four calls from this number over a couple of days. The first call was some bloke claiming he was the energy advisor for my area. He asked how I was doing and I just replied, “Fine, cheers. Bye.” The second call I didn’t even let him get a word out before hanging up. When he called the third time, his voice was all distorted and weird. On the fourth call, he introduced himself again as John, the local energy adviser. I asked, “Representing who exactly?” and he immediately ended the call. I’ve blocked the number now.

So this bloke "Chris" rung me up, claiming to be some ‘local energy advisor’, but just last week he was a expert on loft insulation. Seems like he’s got a hand in everything. It was some robotic call that’d change what it said depending on what you answered. The call ended when I went quiet, but next time, I’m gonna pretend I’m interested and wait till "Chris" picks up properly just to tell him where to stick it! I’m on the ex-directory and on the TPS list - gonna try and find somewhere to report his number cos he’s rung me twice today from two different numbers.

Got a call from a bloke with an English accent, but his name was all garbled so I couldn’t make it out. He started going on about my house not meeting insulation standards. Thing is, I’m ex-directory and on the TPS list! I asked him where on earth he got my number from, and he claimed I’d signed up for insulation info or something like that. When I pressed him a second time, he just blew me off and kept talking. After I asked a third time, he just hung up on me. Proper dodgy behaviour.

Today I got a call from this bloke Chris, he’s been ringing nonstop for weeks now. We put a block on his number but he somehow calls from loads of other numbers that all begin with 01202. Since we don’t know anyone in Bournemouth, we’re thinking of asking BT to stop all calls coming from that code.

Got a call from some posh-sounding guy pushing an energy deal. I just kept telling him to remove me from their calling list, mentioning that it’s illegal to call me since I’m on the TPS. He tried to say something, but I wouldn’t let him get a word in edgeways - just kept saying to take me off. In the end, he gave up.
