I just got my phone bill and it’s £213 - honestly, it’s so frustrating I nearly cried. ESA told me to call them about a sick note, so I did, but no one picked up and the call just dropped. I tried ringing them a few more times but with no success. I never thought I’d get charged for it! Tomorrow, I’m going to phone Sky, although I’m not too hopeful since I’ve heard they’re pretty hopeless with stuff like this. Really hoping there’s some way to get a refund, especially with Christmas coming and money being tight right now.

I was convinced it was some kind of government number I was calling to follow up on a claim, but never actually got through to anyone. Now I’ve got a £78 charge on my bill! Rang O2 and they were really great about it, said they’d remove the charge, which is a relief. Seems like O2 know all about this scam so it’s worth giving your provider a ring - they might sort it for you too. Fingers crossed for everyone dealing with this!

The number is supposed to be for the ESA, but I wouldn’t ring it. I called on the 18th of August and ended up stuck on hold for over eleven minutes, which ended up costing me £35! My husband’s out of work at the moment which is why we rely on ESA, and money's really tight right now. It’s been a real hassle to cover this cost, so please don’t make the same mistake I did.

On 17.09.2021, I had to prove my disability benefits for a dentist appointment. It took me 11 minutes and 7 seconds to get through to ESA, and my call cost me £1.02. Then, after another call lasting 7 seconds, I was charged £40.02. Another 11 minutes and 7 seconds on the phone set me back 43p. My bill is coming soon and honestly, I’m not sure I can cover these fees. I’m planning to ring EE at 8am this morning to see if they can sort something out.

I searched online for the ESA helpline number and got two choices: either press a button on my mobile to connect, which I assumed might cost something, or ring 09011490500 from a landline. I called from a home phone and missed the tiny text saying it’d be over £3.90 from landlines. I was just trying to find out why my payment hadn’t come through and ended up with a bill of £41.76 for about 10 minutes! That’s almost a quarter of the money I was waiting on. How do they legally get away with charging that much??

While searching online for info about claiming benefits from the government, I found this number listed as legitimate. I gave it a ring, and after they put me on hold, I ended up waiting for nearly 20 minutes before they suddenly just hung up on me. Later on, I get my phone bill and spot a charge of £83.32 for that very call! It’s absolute robbery, especially since I’m unemployed and trying to get some support. Can’t believe they’d rip off someone just trying to get help like that.

I've fallen victim to a scam linked to this number, having received two calls that lasted 11.5 minutes, yet no one was on the other end of the line. To my dismay, I've ended up with a bill of £90 on my Sky Mobile account. I've reached out to the Action Fraud team, and thankfully, I've been issued a crime reference number by the police. Apparently i called this number and now ive got a £16 charge for it which is just crazy.
