I received a call from someone with an Asian accent, claiming to represent Microsoft. When I inquired how he obtained my number, he mentioned it was linked to my usage of a Windows application. I pointed out that I don’t even own a computer, and just like that, he abruptly hung up. Quite suspicious, if you ask me!

I've been bothered by calls from 08712700036, and it feels quite troubling, to say the least. The line seems to be connected to some call centre, and there's a cacophony of noise in the background. The caller, who claimed to be “Alex” in an American accent, didn’t make me feel at ease. Quite the annoying intrusion, if I'm being honest.

I received a rather dodgy call claiming to be from Microsoft. They insisted they were getting error messages from my device, but when I informed them I didn't possess a computer, they seemed rather flustered. After a brief discussion, they abruptly ended the call, leaving me a bit suspicious.

I received a call this morning - the first of its kind in a good while. They launched into their usual routine about supposed issues with Windows. I decided to have a bit of fun and pretended I couldn’t locate the information they were asking me for. After playing along for a bit, I inquired about how to check which version of Windows I supposedly had... They provided the instructions, but I feigned ignorance, claiming I couldn’t find any Windows logo. After about ten minutes of playful banter, I finally revealed that perhaps my dilemma stemmed from the fact that I was using an Apple Mac, which, of course, has no Windows logo. *Click*. They ended the call pretty promptly! :)

I had a rather dubious call from this number earlier today. The chap on the other end had a pronounced South Asian accent, and honestly, it was quite difficult to catch what he was saying. It felt like I was conversing with someone very far away. I did manage to catch snippets such as 'computer' and 'Microsoft,' but that was pretty much it. It struck me as a classic scam attempt, so I firmly told him I wasn’t interested, then hung up. This was my first encounter with this number, and fingers crossed it’ll be the last, though I’m not overly optimistic. It’s bizarre how these individuals operate, really.

This morning I received a call at precisely 8 o'clock, followed by another at 4:43 in the afternoon. Upon picking up the second call, the line went dead. I’ve got caller ID, though it’s not set up on the phone upstairs, and of course, that’s where I happened to be during both instances. It’s rather tiresome dealing with these persistent callers. Moving forward, I shall be ignoring any calls on my upstairs phone and keeping an eye on my other devices. Perhaps they'll take the hint and leave me be!

I've received two calls from this number today already, the first one before 8 in the morning. The latest just came in moments ago. I've started to recognise that brief pause before they begin talking, so on that second call, I decided to play along and told them they’d reached the police fraud hotline. Surprisingly, they hung up straight away!

I received a call purporting to be from "Jonathan at Windows," and his accent was quite distinctly Asian. My immediate thought was, "Ah, a virus on my machine, how original!" I assumed they'd put an end to this ruse ages ago. Then, just like that, the line went silent. Do these people ever take a hint?

I received a rather dodgy call from an individual named "Oscar," who appeared to be of Asian descent, attempting to pull off a scam related to some Windows issues on my computer. I received a rather dubious call from a chap of Asian descent claiming he could rectify some issues with my Windows machine. He insisted he was monitoring my device and noticed some security flaws. If you’ve already signed up with the TPS, do make sure to flag any scam callers to the ICO, and don’t forget to report those pesky silent or dropped calls to OFCOM. It’s worth noting that spam callers couldn’t care less about comments made here, but they certainly pay attention when you lodge a report with OFCOM or the ICO. It only takes a minute or two of your time to make a difference!

I've received a call from this number too! Upon picking up, they promptly hung up. Interestingly, just before Christmas in 2016, I had a similar experience with the aforementioned 0203 number. I kept them on the line a bit longer and realised it was a ruse to persuade me into downloading some software. Their goal was clearly to gain access to my computer and monitor my activities. They pretended to represent BT's technical support, which made it even more concerning!

I received a call today from someone claiming to be with 'Windows', insisting that a staggering 60% of my computer was infected with viruses, even though I wouldn't be able to detect them myself. He rattled off a reference number starting with 888DCA60, instructing me to input it on my machine. I managed to buy myself some time, and he then provided a contact number, 0203 630 4338, advising me to ring back and mention I had spoken to a chap named Tony Fredrick and quote MX1097 for further assistance. Naturally, I've chosen not to call back. I contacted BT to set up some form of call control blacklist, but they informed me that the 08712 700036 number isn't recognised as valid, so I can't add it to the blacklist.

Typically, I’m quick to send these callers packing, but there have been instances when I've indulged them. Once, I played along for about half an hour, feigning ignorance and acting as though I couldn't grasp their convoluted instructions.
