I can assure you, this group was not part of any unlawful activities, contrary to what some might think. There have indeed been alerts issued by the local authorities regarding this scam. It's baffling to see individuals claiming that this was either legitimate or a mere ruse. It’s clear that there’s a lot of confusion surrounding the matter.

This number appears to be genuine. Nevertheless, I strongly advise against sharing any personal information with callers. Make sure to visit your bank's official website (in this instance, RBS) and search for any associated scam numbers. Once you identify a scam, it's wise to contact them directly and provide the necessary details regarding these dodgy characters.

Just a quick update after my recent phone call this evening. I got in touch with RBS via the number 01313174597. Their security team confirmed that the number 08453560010 is indeed a bona fide contact related to recent transactions on our bank cards. They’ve assured me it’s all above board.

Today, I received three calls from this number. The first one seemed to glitch halfway through the message, urging me to get in touch with them and warning that these folks might reach out again. The subsequent calls simply delivered a message advising me to "press any key to proceed." The initial message gave the number 0044 1313397609. I tried calling it back and was greeted by a recorded message about RBS fraud. Since I've never held an account with RBS, I've decided to disregard this entirely.

Received a trio of calls from this number today. The first one seemed to get cut off halfway through the message, urging me to call back as it was of utmost importance and warned that this lot might reach out again. The subsequent calls were just automated drivel saying, "press any key to proceed". The initial message handed out the number 0044 1313397609. I decided to give it a go, but all I got was a recorded spiel about RBS fraud. Since we’ve never had and don’t plan to have any dealings with RBS, I'm just going to dismiss this.

Absolutely legitimate experience here! We decided to give the number found on the reverse of our card a ring to confirm its authenticity, and indeed it was a number associated with RBS. We had made a donation on the Red Cross website, which unexpectedly flagged our account for unusual activity, resulting in our card being temporarily disabled. If you ever find yourself uncertain, it's wise to contact the debit card customer service number located just above the magnetic strip on the back of your card. Better safe than sorry!

This is indeed an authentic contact number for RBS, but I’d recommend that if you happen to receive a call from it, you should ring your local branch just to be on the safe side and confirm it’s legit.

It was the Royal Bank of Scotland that gave us a call. We decided to ring them back using a familiar number. Turns out, they were getting in touch because someone in India had tried to withdraw 100 in the local currency using our debit card. Quite concerning, really!

I've received three missed calls today from RBS, all connected to our son who is currently travelling overseas. I've hung up each time, but I plan to ring the bank first thing tomorrow just to be on the safe side!

Absolutely authentic! I recently fell prey to some fraudulent activity on my RBS card, and this is the contact number for the team that assisted me. You can also reach them at 0845 300 4350; it connects you to the very same department and staff.

Received a couple of missed calls from this number on my mobile, and they even rang our landline too. It seemed legitimate since we’ve noticed some strange transactions from our bank card earlier today. Thankfully, we’ve managed to block the card now, so fingers crossed that everything’s sorted out!

WARNING TO ALL! I’ve reached out to RBS regarding the number 08453560010, and they’re currently investigating it. This phone number is definitely not legitimate, as confirmed by my mother during her visit to RBS today. I can’t help but think that some individuals are spreading misleading information right here in the comments. Isn’t it curious how most early posts claim it's authentic? Yet, when someone tries to sound the alarm, it seems like a barrage of contrary views follows suit, almost harassing in tone. We’ve completely ignored their voicemail and haven't shared the customer reference number they were after - and just to reiterate, our card hasn’t been frozen. I repeat, NOT FROZEN. Take heed: some comments imply these scammers might reach out again. I strongly advise you to visit the RBS website for information on phishing and scams. The official RBS fraud contact number in the UK is 0845 300 4350. Why on earth would there be two different numbers? Caller: SCAM ARTISTS IMITATING AN ALTERNATIVE RBS FRAUD LINE

We found ourselves in a similar situation. Just ring the number found on the back of your RBS card and have a chat with them; they clarified that it’s all above board and connected us directly. The representatives provided us with comprehensive details about every transaction, even down to the specifics like our balance, location, and the exact timings. Although it was a bit nerve-wracking, everything seems to be perfectly fine now after the chat.

Greetings, everyone! Well, here's the real quandary, isn’t it? We had these individuals trying to get through on our mobile and then our landline. Quite the cheek, really! We executed a pair of transactions on PayPal, one for around thirty quid and another for twelve. Following that, we splashed out over £200 at Tesco. Naturally, they swiftly slapped a hold on our card, citing fraudulent activity. So, there you have it; everything’s hunky-dory now. No fines or anything to worry about. Cheers!

I recently encountered what appears to be the RBS scam alert system in action. As an account holder with RBS, I discovered that their automated system had picked up on a potentially suspicious transaction, resulting in my card being frozen. Shortly after, I received a call from this number asking for some identification details to lift the block on my card. This all unfolded right when I tried to withdraw cash from an ATM overseas, and I can confirm that this was indeed a legitimate process.

I received the exact same pre-recorded ring, so I decided to reach out to RBS’s Customer Services to confirm the legitimacy of the number. They assured me it was indeed a valid contact. When I rang the number, I was told that my debit card had been compromised and consequently, it was cancelled. To ensure all was well, I contacted RBS Customer Services once more, and they confirmed that my card had indeed been cancelled following my earlier conversation with them. Quite the ordeal!

I can confirm that this is the real deal. I reached out to our branch at RBS and they gave us the number 08456076569 to reach out on, which helped us resolve the matter. We also pointed out that a recorded voice might lead to people just hanging up out of caution, as it raises a certain level of doubt.

I can confirm this is authentic; we checked it out with our local RBS office. Earlier today, there was an attempt to use our card in Australia. Fortunately, the bank caught it and turned down the transaction. They gave us this number to call: 08456076569.

Today, I noticed that I had missed two calls spaced four hours apart, alongside a pre-recorded voicemail from the number 0845 356 0010. It turned out to be from the fraud department of RBS. I can confirm this is completely authentic! After ringing back using the contact on my debit card, I uncovered that someone had take out a loan from QUID24.com, secured car insurance through AA, made a $199 purchase in San Francisco, acquired a mobile phone, and even spent £15 via [email protected] (not quite sure what that is) using my debit card for all these transactions. Just a heads up, calls from the RBS FRAUD DEPARTMENT from this number are indeed 100% legitimate!

Hello there! I don’t hold an account with RBS, but I’ve just gotten a text on my phone that reads: ‘This is The Royal Bank Of Scotland Fraud Team. It’s important to reach out to us immediately at 08453560010 concerning some suspicious activity related to your account.’ I must say, this has all the hallmarks of a scam!

We've received a call from this number too. We decided to visit the RBS website to see if it was mentioned there, but found nothing. When we dialled the supposedly scam number provided on the site, the folks on the other end didn't have a clue about any call made to us. This has led us to believe that something here just doesn't add up and it all feels rather suspicious.

My son received a phone call from a chap claiming to be from RBS, inquiring whether he had recently used his card at an ATM in Bow, London, which he had indeed done. This person informed him that his card had been blocked and instructed him to ring 0845 3560010 to have it reactivated. He ended up making two calls, and I noticed that I was hit with a charge of 45p for one, while the other racked up an eye-watering £4.28 for a ten-minute wait to be connected to the appropriate department. Quite frustrating!

It’s quite frustrating to receive calls from an automated service affiliated with RBS, especially since we don’t have an account with them. Such a nuisance, isn’t it?

I keep getting calls from this number. If it’s truly a fraudulent operation, why on earth should I be the one returning their calls? It’s an 0845 number, no less! Furthermore, they’re after someone who hasn’t had this phone for over six years! It all seems a bit dodgy to me - definitely reeks of a scam!

This number turned out to be completely legitimate. We received a call, but I was a bit sceptical since it sounded automated. So, we decided to reach out to our bank’s phone service for verification. They confirmed that we were indeed contacted by the RBS fraud department, and they even connected us directly with them. I'm quite relieved we made that call, as there were some dodgy transactions trying to slip through on our account from a recent trip we just came back from.

I received a recorded message claiming there was an issue with my card, warning it might be a scam. When I contacted my local RBS branch for clarification, they advised me not to return the call. They mentioned that any legitimate scam investigation would be conducted through a private call from the bank, rather than a pre-recorded message. It’s clear that this was a total ruse.

I can assure you, this is genuine and not a con. Earlier today I got a call, and upon hearing a portion of the conversation, I had my doubts and wondered if it was some sort of scam. Instead of carrying on with the call, I decided to ring RBS directly using my telephone banking details. I navigated through the standard security checks, brought up the call I received, and they swiftly transferred me to their fraud department. They checked my card activity and confirmed everything was fine; my card has been reinstated. So, all is above board!

It’s now a day after I took a call from this number. Despite my compliance in changing my debit card and my initial belief that I was conversing with fraud prevention from RBS, I remain rather sceptical about the entire approach taken.

I can’t shake the feeling that there might be a more elaborate scheme at play, perhaps orchestrated by a dubious faction within the banking sector, who might want to keep a tighter watch on certain individuals outside their inner circle.

As you ponder this, I urge you to chat with any mates who might be using the same ATM, to see if anyone else has had similar calls. You might be surprised.

Doesn’t it strike you as odd that such an ordinary phone call could lead to so much fuss, especially when trying to reach the bank, only to be met with the same robotic response system?

There's definitely something fishy going on here!
