Each time, a different individual on the other end claimed to be from HMRC, trying to collect on some supposed unpaid debts. We asked them to send any correspondence to our mailing address, assuring them that we'd respond in due course. Upon hearing this, the tone of the caller changed, becoming rather hostile and even threatening us with police visits. It's quite amusing! I generally receive any communications from HMRC through the post, so I'd advise everyone to be cautious and not disclose any personal information over the phone.

She insisted that there was an issue with an outstanding P35 end-of-year return from 08-09, dated May 19, 2009. Apparently, she needed to speak to the authorised signatory for cheques.
