Just got an email like that yesterday about VAT direct debits through billpay or something. Didn’t dare open the attachments since I’ve seen on other forums they might have viruses! Pretty sure it's a scam for sure. I reported it and also sent it over to '[email protected]' for them to check out.

Got an email claiming to be from SantanderBillpayment about some VAT payment, even had a phone number that looked like it was from the tax office. I rang my bank to check, and since my bank’s Santander too, they told me straight up it was a scam and I shouldn’t reply at all!

I got an email from this number claiming it was about a VAT receipt from Santander. The weird thing is, I'm not registered for VAT and I don't live in the UK. I do have a Santander account but it's been dormant for almost two years now! Really suspicious.

Got a call from some dodgy number and when I checked online it was linked to a fake Santander site. Looked super sketchy like a proper scam. Would definitely stay clear of anything that even bits like that!

I got an email from my bank and this number was in it... Has anyone else seen it before?

I just got an email from 'Santander' about a VAT invoice payment receipt, and it had a phone number listed. Thing is, I’m not even VAT registered, and all I’ve got with Santander is an ISA. Do you reckon a scammer would actually use a real HMRC phone number in their dodgy email? Seems a bit odd to me.
