I got the exact same message as loads of others here. I tried ringing the number a few times, waiting on the line for quite a while each time. After that, I got in touch with OFCOM to report it. Turns out these lot use some sort of trick to jack up the call price way beyond usual 0844 rates, charging you a hefty amount per minute. Proper rip-off.

Just got the exact same text, with ref number 799710 as well. That 08445 line is a proper money trap - when you ring, they play a recorded message thanking you for contacting N M S, then stick you on hold while they charge you. I couldn’t be bothered waiting any longer, but I reckon when someone actually picks up, they probably say it’s about your PPI or Double Glazing or something, and if you’re not interested, they just hang up. Looks like a clever way to make a quick quid!

Got a text from 07456 864223 telling me they’ve been trying to get in touch and it’s really urgent. They wanted me to ring 0844 5715199 and mention reference number 799710. Sounds like a proper scam to me, this sort of thing really should be blocked!

I got a spam message earlier but I was expecting a really important phone call from the hospital, so I called the number back to check it out. Now I just feel really stupid for falling for it, and honestly I’m so angry about it. It’s messed me up at a time when I’m already feeling vulnerable. Avoid picking up, it's one of those calls where they try to check if your phone is connected. I just gave it a shot ringing my own mobile and it's definitely dodgy. The lady on the line mumbles the company name so badly you can't really understand what she’s saying. Proper scam, annoying as hell.
