I just got a text marked urgent from +447472001595, with some reference number, telling me to ring back on 08445715184. I phoned straight away but no one picked up. What's odd is I never saw a missed call from them before the message popped up, which makes me think this could well be some kind of scam.

I got a message just like that this morning at 10:16. If your number is with O2, you can send the text (but leave out ‘it’s been sent from’) over to their spam number, 7726. It won’t cost anything if you’re an O2 user.

No actual message left either, just this automated thing. Pretty sure it's dodgy - I looked up 0844 numbers and apparently calling them can be pricey. According to http://www.area-codes.org.uk/0844-numbers.php, these 0844 lines can cost you around 40p a minute, but the organisation calling only gets a tiny cut, the rest goes to the phone companies. Sounds like a scam to me!

I got a message from a number saying something like "Urgent! We've been trying to reach you, please call us today on 08445715184 with your ref XXXXX". I phoned back using a private number, but all I heard was some garbled voice thanking me for calling NMS. Loads of folks would call thinking it's important and get stressed about something. I tried calling once but was away for ages.
