I've just received the exact same message, complete with the same reference number. Thought I'd better check here first, so I won't be returning the call.

So yesterday around 12.17pm, I got a text from 07456 798045 saying I should ring the 0844 number provided and mention reference 123390. The message made it sound like it was really urgent, starting with ATTENTION! like they needed to talk to me that very day. I just decided to ignore it though.

Got a text saying someone tried to reach me and it was urgent, with a reference number 123390. Pretty clear it's a scam though. I Googled the number and loads of folks had the exact same message. When they call back, apparently they end up stuck on hold forever and probably get raked over the coals with huge call charges. Definitely dodgy.

Got a message from that exact number too, telling me to ring them back with the ref 123390. I rang up but got stuck on hold forever, like at least 10 minutes. So I decided to search the number online and turns out it’s just another typical scam.

Today about 1.55pm, I received this urgent text but there was no missed call on my phone. The reference number matched the ones mentioned above, and the message was sent from mobile number 07456831062.

I just received this identical message, and it came with the same reference number too. Really kicking myself for not searching it up first - ended up waiting on hold for a whole ten minutes for nothing..
