Just got the exact same thing actually. A few days back, I missed a call from some Spanish number. Thought I'd be clever and messaged them asking who it was, naturally they didn’t bother to respond. Now I’m stuck waiting on my phone bill, fingers crossed it’s not ridiculous :(

If only I'd seen the comments above before I started... I ended up hanging on for nearly two minutes before it hit me that it might be a scam. Now I'm curious how much those couple of minutes have set me back. I usually think I'm quite clued up about these calls, but this just proves you can't afford to let your guard down even for a moment!

Got a text saying they’d been trying to reach me and to ring a certain number with a reference code, but I’m not bothering to call back. The message was from 07463825209. Those 0844 numbers can charge around 10p a minute, so if loads of folks ring and end up on hold, it’s just a sneaky way to nick money off people.
