Got a call from this number today but they didn’t bother leaving any voicemail, which tells me it probably wasn’t anything urgent. Since the number doesn’t ring any bells, I’m guessing it was either some annoying sales pitch or one of those usual scams. I’ve gone ahead and blocked the number now.

I just spent half an hour on the phone with a chap, who insists that I've got a £3,300 tax discrepancy to sort out. As I started to engage with him and queried if I could settle it in instalments, he was initially quite stiff-lipped. However, after a little "consultation" with his superiors, he offered me a deal to pay £1,500 upfront and the rest later. It all struck me as rather suspect, and I quickly realised this was a scam pretending to be HMRC. For one, we hadn’t received any prior correspondence from them. When I pressed him for official documentation, he claimed it was too late since the matter was already in court. That was all the evidence I needed to conclude that these blokes were nothing but crooks!

A bloke by the name of Mr Eric Foster informed me that, as a director of a small business, I was under investigation for tax fraud and evasion. They mentioned having sent a letter to my company back on the 24th of November 2019, which they claimed was done via recorded delivery. When I firmly pressed them for the name of the signatory, they abruptly ended the call. It's clear this is a scam trying to pull a fast one.

This number just rang me, claiming to be from HMRC. They said I need to ring them back or have my lawyer get in touch. Definitely sounded dodgy to me.

Received a call warning me about supposed legal troubles and awful consequences if I didn’t ring HMRC right away. It sounded really intimidating, but I didn’t bother returning the call. Ended up blocking the number straight away.

Got a call from this number, some guy claimed to be from HMRC saying I owed £3125! He was an Indian bloke, kept threatening me about 5 different charges and said I'd get arrested if I didn’t sort it out. When I asked for a proper reference number from HMRC, the bloke just abruptly hung up. Don’t trust this number, it’s definitely a scam!

Got a call like that too, saying I had to ring up officer Dennis Grey on 08443511028 or get my solicitor to do it. They kept threatening me with a lawsuit, which was pretty intimidating.

Got a call like this earlier, saw the comments and thought it sounds familiar. I just went ahead and blocked the number and deleted the voicemail straight away. It was a bit amusing though, since I'm pretty sure in the UK they don’t refer to their HMRC people as “Officers”!

I got this automated call from a woman’s voice telling me that either I or my solicitor must ring back straight away, or else I should expect serious trouble. The number she wanted me to call was 0844 3511028. She said they'd be reporting this to HMRC right away - total scam, definitely fraud.

Got a call from 0844 3511028 with a recorded message from a lady saying she was from HMRC. The tone was pretty threatening, telling me I had to get in touch with them or there would be serious consequences. Definitely sounded dodgy.
