Luckily after I block a number, my phone just doesn’t ring at all when they try to call. I’ve always been curious what kind of message those callers get if they’re blocked - does anyone here know?

They said they were from HM Revenue & Customs and were really aggressive. The caller warned, "You must call this number straight away, or your lawyer needs to, otherwise HMRC will take legal steps over your latest tax return, which is under investigation for fraud and stuff." Got a couple of messages on my voicemail from some robotic woman’s voice, sounded like she was struggling with English. Pretty obvious it’s a scam, trying to freak you out into ringing back pretending to be from HMRC but without even saying who they are. Best thing is just to bin it, don’t bother giving it any attention - even though they warned not to ignore it. If you do pick up by accident, don’t give out any of your details and just hang up quickly. They’ll just disappear after that.

I got a couple of messages on my voicemail from some robotic female voice that sounded like a really bad attempt at English, clearly from a scammer pretending to be HMRC. The whole thing was just trying to freak me out into calling them back, without even bothering to say my name. Best thing to do is just delete and forget about it, no matter what threats they throw at you about ignoring the message. If you do pick up by accident, don’t share any personal details like your name or where you live, just hang up straight away. They’ll stop bothering you after that.

Never pick up calls from 0845 351 1075 or 0844 351 0786. I answered one and after I questioned them they just cut me off. I’ve gone ahead and reported them to HMRC as well. So be careful with these numbers!

Got a pretty scary voicemail from them, I rang back and when I didn’t want to share my number, they just hung up on me.

I got a call from 08443511075 with a really scary message. They said I needed to contact an officer straight away, and if my lawyer didn’t reply, things would turn out badly for me. Proper frightening stuff.

I got a call from 08443511075, turned out to be HMRC. Thing is, I've already got a Trust Deed in place, which is protected, so they really shouldn't be chasing me about any debt now. Feels a bit off that they kept ringing even after I've sorted that out.

This number rang me with some automated voice saying his name was Peter. I rang them back a few times, pretending to be from the police, hmrc and stuff just to mess with him. Had a laugh at his expense for a good part of the morning. Now he’s nowhere to be found and doesn’t pick up at all.

Got a voicemail from someone pretending to be HMRC, warning me they'd take legal steps if I didn't respond. They even mentioned involving my solicitor if I kept ignoring them. Definitely felt dodgy! Total SCAM alert!

I’ve had two calls from this number today, both times they left a voicemail saying they were from Hercules and that they needed me to ring them back. I haven’t bothered returning the calls, but does anyone know how to block this number?

We got a call from someone pretending to be HMRC on the house phone too. Both numbers have been blocked now to be safe.

I received an automated call that started as soon as I picked up. It pretended to be from HMRC and insisted that it was of an urgent nature, demanding my immediate attention. Honestly, it felt quite threatening. I strongly advise against picking up calls from this number-best to block it altogether!

If theyre able to put together videos about HMRC scams, youd think they could catch those scammers by now! Seems a bit frustrating.

Just got a call from someone claiming to be HMRC but I’m pretty sure it’s a scam. The number showed Hanoi, which was a dead giveaway. Don’t fall for it!

Got a voicemail that sounded really threatening, some person or group saying they'd drag me to court over some legal matter I don't even know about. It's quite unsettling. Hope their sneaky plans don't work out!
