Then a woman rang to check if they could arrange for someone to come over and explain how it works, and if we're not keen, no worries. Someone was supposed to arrive today at 1pm but it's now half past and no one’s turned up. Not really sure what's happening, to be honest.

Got a call from national boiler group on 01133180409. I pressed 2 and had a chat with a bloke since we're actually thinking of getting a new boiler. Then a woman rang back asking if they could pop round to explain how it all works, and said if we weren't interested, that was fine. They were supposed to come today at 1pm but it's now 1.30pm and no one’s shown up. Bit confusing really, don’t know what’s going on.

The problem is as soon as you answer, the robocall system figures out you’re in and then you get harassed with calls from PPI scammers.

I keep on blocking them on my phone so they cant ring me again but the problem is they use loads of different numbers from a call centre. Ive had to block so many cos the numbers just keep changing. I check my blocked list and theres about 30 numbers that all look similar like 0130, 0129, 0128, 0127 etc and they all seem to be from the same lot. They use both mobiles and local numbers which makes it super hard to stop them. Something really needs to be done about these scammers cos its well annoying.

National Boiler Group rang my work number with a pre-recorded message saying all domestic boilers must be replaced by a specific date. I pressed 2 to speak to someone and challenged the woman about there being no law requiring domestic boilers to be updated by any deadline. I said it sounded like a scare tactic aimed at vulnerable folks to get them to sign up for something. I also mentioned they’d called a business number that definitely doesn’t have a domestic boiler. We’re already on the TPS and have reported this to the ICO. The number they showed, 0113468441, isn’t a genuine one.

Got a recorded call about replacing my boiler and adding home insulation, claimed it was free of extra charges. They never mentioned what the "extra cost" was on top of though, probably some inflated price to start with. Feels like a total scam to me.

I got a call from someone calling themselves the 'National Boiler Group'. There was a recorded message saying every boiler in the nation had to meet some specific standard by the end of 2017, which sounded dodgy to me. I tried talking to one of their reps, who also claimed they were the 'National Boiler Group'. When I asked if they had a website, the person just ended the call. I’m pretty sure these guys are just trying to con people.

My dad keeps getting loads of calls from these 08439 800 type numbers even tho he's on the TPS no call register. As soon as he answers, they just hang up. I made a contact in his phone named Scam Scam Scam and set a proper dodgy ringtone for it. Using websites like this one, I check his missed calls and add the suspicious numbers to that contact. Now when they ring, he can spot straight away it’s a call to avoid. Hopefully this little trick helps others too! :)
