I received a message saying Santander were doing a fraud check asking if I made a £1700 payment to AMAZON UK. It told me to respond Y if yes, or ring 08432894728 if not. I called that number to find out more but got stuck on hold forever, stuck at queue number 4 for like 10 minutes. I reckon that call just cost me nearly £4.50! Total scam alert, watch out everyone!

I received a message on the same number Santander uses, asking if I attempted to buy something on Amazon for £1700. I phoned the number, but they cut me off after about two minutes. Then I rang Santander directly, and they confirmed it wasn’t them sending the text. They promised to look into this scam!

Got a message saying Santander wanted to check some suspicious activity on my account. It asked if I'd made a certain transaction and to reply Y or call 08432894728 if not. I rang Santander myself, and they said they only ever use 08007316666 for this stuff. So yeah, that other number’s definitely a con.

I called Santander myself and this number isn't even in their system. They basically rip you off by charging your phone per minute and then keeping you waiting on the line forever. It's definitely a con.

I got a message saying something about spending £1500 on Amazon which freaked me out a bit. Rang the number they gave but ended up waiting on hold for like 11 minutes. While waiting I checked my Santander and Amazon accounts and nothing looked odd or missing. Then I googled the number and found this site. Decided to just hang up - definitely feels like a scam to me.

I got a call from a number charging crazy rates, and it looked like it was from Santander. Santander themselves told me it was a scam. They somehow made the message look like it came from Santander. I called my phone company, but they said it’s out of their hands since it's a third party issue. I’ll have to get back in touch with Santander to get this sorted properly.
