Got a text from 68989 asking if I’d paid remitix 2, just a simple y if yes or call 0843 289 5221 if not. Turns out it’s a total scam. I have a Barclays account so I checked the number online straight away and sure enough, that number isn’t linked to Barclays at all. Don’t ring it back, it’s dodgy. Just a heads up to everyone, stay sharp and don’t let these con artists fool you.

Received the identical text twice, I’ve never had anything to do with Barclays. I called back the number using a blocked phone from work, and like others mentioned, it just loops you around to waste your minutes (or my work’s phone credit, which is annoying). The biggest clue? They don’t even say the company name when they answer, just go straight into a robotic message. Completely dodgy and a total rip-off.

It’s all rather puzzling, and I’m left scratching my head over this strange situation.

Plus, the firm called Remitix seems dodgy since they never pick up their calls or reply to emails. If you get a message or a call from 08432895221, just don’t ring them back. This is definitely a scam, just a load of rubbish. They keep you waiting ages and say you’re number 4 in the queue, but you never get through. It’s a premium rate number, so be careful not to get stung. Honestly, don’t bother calling, they won’t pick up.

got a text supposedly from lloyds bank asking me to verify a payment to remitix. the caller ID showed lloyds bank but when I rang back it was nothing to do with them. ended up stuck on hold for like 5-10 minutes waiting in the queue (haven't looked at my phone bill so dunno if they charged me). the thing is, I don't even have a bank account or use remitix. definitely feels dodgy and like some scam going on.
