This number sent me quite a few texts claiming to be from Lloyds Bank. The messages looked pretty legit, saying I’d missed a payment on my credit card. Before doing anything, I logged into my account and it was clear that none of it was true. What’s sneaky is that the phone number is almost the same as Lloyds Bank’s real number - only two digits off. The scam texts come from a number ending in 66, whereas Lloyds genuine contact number ends with 99.

I got a few txts, three in fact, all saying something about Lloyds Bank and me not sorting out a direct debit for £5 properly. I’m glad I asked my partner first coz she always has a look at this kind of thing online. Didn’t click any links and just deleted the lot. Honestly, if I had the chance I’d love to get my hands on these nasty scammers and give them what they deserve! It’s awful how many selfish folk out there try and nick hard-earned cash from honest people. Proper disgusting.

Last year, someone stole my identity, and just recently, I got a text from 0808 145 0366 saying I should tap a link and ring them back about my credit card. I didn’t trust it, so I blocked the number straight away. The following day, I rang up Lloyd’s myself and they told me they’d never send a text like that. Apparently, they only ever ask customers to login through the official website, never by clicking on random links.

Just to warn everyone, this isn’t a legit Lloyds bank call. They pretend to be asking for the last three digits on your card, but it’s a scam to use your card online. Always ring Lloyds back on their official number and don’t trust any weird or random ones!

When you call back, there’s an answering machine asking you to enter your credit card details. We’re definitely not falling for it, and I wouldn’t suggest anyone else does either.
