I got a call from someone saying they were from Consumer Debt Recovery (CDR) about a debt with Lloyds. It sounded legit at first but not sure if its a proper company or one of those scams. Watch out if you get a similar call!

Got a letter from Halifax/Lloyds and called the number which is supposed to be the credit card collections team. The woman I spoke with knew loads about me but didn’t mention straight away that the call was being recorded. This made me a bit uneasy and now I’m feeling quite suspicious about the whole thing.

I got a call today from a Mr Sherwin, seems he’s with Halifax or Lloyds. He actually shared this number with me, turns out it’s the phone for one of their departments! 😎

Wasn't too sure at first cos the call seemed a bit sketchy, but I rang Halifax direct to check. Turns out the info from that number was spot on and I do have a refund coming. I’d say don’t bother calling that number again - just get through to telephone banking straight away and they’ll sort the transfer for you.

Got a dodgy letter with a really poor attempt at the Halifax logo in black. I could tell it was a scam straight away, but I looked up the phone number just to see if I could report it and ended up here. These scammers might be smart, but they’re not fooling me today. Better luck next time, mate!

I got a letter from Halifax saying I was owed some money back, and it turned out to be true. A relative sent me some cash but used my old bank account info, which had already been shut down. Got a letter supposedly from Bank of Scotland, which was odd since I’ve got an account there but barely use it.
They rang me up asking for my date of birth, something I refused to share. Definitely a scam.
The letter was pretty rubbish too, just plain black and white paper. But seriously, how did they manage to find my address?

Got a letter today claiming to be from Halifax about a refund cheque. They wanted me to ring them up, and asked if I wanted the cheque sent to someone else. The paper had what seemed like a Halifax letterhead but only in black and white, which felt a bit off. The wording didn’t sound quite right either, not like a proper bank letter. The phone number to call was right at the top for checking details. Honestly, it looked super official and I reckon a lot of folks could fall for that scam.

So far, everything has been quite positive, and they’ve genuinely supported me with managing my debt repayments.

Got a text urging me to ring this number, so I did. The person on the other end said they were from Halifax Bank and asked for my account info plus other personal stuff. The caller said they were based in the Philippines and their English was really hard to understand. I quickly cut the call. My advice? Avoid it, feels pretty dodgy.

Got a call at my job from someone telling me to call back their number immediately. It felt dodgy since the caller didn’t specify which bank they represented, only mentioning ‘Personal Banking’. When I pressed them on which bank exactly, they wouldn’t tell me, claiming it was due to bank rules.
