A bloke called me saying he was with an insurance firm and asked if I’d been in a car crash. When I said yes, quite a few, he asked if he could help. I asked him to remind me which one and what car I was in, but he couldn’t answer. After I flipped the questions back at him, he just hung up.

0800 962 5789 - Answered the call. Some woman said she was ringing from RMCA or something like that. The mum was making a racket in the other room so i had to get her to say again and she sounded proper annoyed. I asked what it was about and she says something about an accident i was in. I just went ‘yeah right love, we’re in lockdown and I’ve been working from home, haven’t even driven recently.’ She mumbled ‘nooo we…’ and then I just hung up and blocked the number. Haha.

Some bloke rang about a car crash supposedly, so I just ended the call and blocked him straight away. Definitely a scam.

Picked up the phone and heard some music in the background. A man with a thick accent said he was calling from a company (caught the name) and asked if I’d made a claim for a car accident from up to 18 months ago. Told him I’d never been in one and asked where he got my number from. Then he asked if any family members had been involved in an accident recently, within 18 months. I said no and asked once more how he got my contact. He quickly wished me a good day and hung up right away.

Someone rang me asking if I’d recently been involved in an accident. Claimed to be from a company called OTM traffic management. Told her to remove my number from their list. She replied that it doesn’t work like that! Wouldn’t say if they were a private firm or part of the council. I said if they needed to contact me, they could send a letter since they already have my address. She insisted it was a ‘3-step process’ and I had to speak on the phone first. I just hung up. Properly awful how easy it is for vulnerable people to get caught out by this. Totally disgusting behaviour.

I thought I’d humour him for a laugh during lockdown, but it quickly turned ugly when I didn’t give him my info. He got properly nasty so I just ended the call. Honestly, steer well clear of these con artists!

Got a bloke ringing me, called Mr Desouza, real pushy fella. He reckoned I was due cash from some car accident and claimed he got my info from the Road Traffic Association. When I questioned him, he proper lost it, especially after I told him I'd report the lot to the Police for bothering me. Told him I don’t even drive, and he wasn’t best pleased. Seriously, just hang up on these muppets!
