I got that call about 6 hours back! At first, I really believed it was serious since I hadn’t been in any crash and assumed it was a follow up, but I was a bit wary. When the bloke claimed he knew all the accident details, I told him “go on, tell me what you’ve got so I can check it”. He just kept repeating “I have all the details! Can you confirm you were in an accident?” Honestly, how do people even find the time to do this?

I got a call like that about six hours ago! At first, I honestly believed it was legit since I hadn’t been in any accident and assumed it was a follow-up. Still, I got a bit wary when the bloke claimed he had all the accident details. I told him, “Well, what exactly do you know? Let me check!” But he just kept repeating, “I’ve got all the information! Can you just confirm you had an accident?” Honestly, how do folks have so much time on their hands?

Picked up the phone, there was a weird pause then some woman with a London accent just said hello like it was me who called them. Didn't bother calling back, hung up straight away.

So turns out the car I was using got into a crash back in November, and they just got round to informing me. Lovely, I said, but which car was it? A Ford Ka, apparently. I then asked if they managed to free my wheelchair from the steering wheel. No reply! They stayed on the line long enough to trace the IP to some place in Hyderabad. Now the hassle starts. Honestly, never pick up a call or chat to anyone unless you're sure who's calling or you’re expecting them.

Just got a call from some bloke. I told him it seemed like a scam. He was yelling back, "What do you mean scam?!" but I didn't wait to hear more and ended the call straight away.

I received a phone call from a chap who claimed it was regarding a claim I supposedly filed. He went on about my vehicle, but I was baffled as I hadn't lodged any such claim. After I mentioned this, he quickly concluded that he must have dialled the wrong number and abruptly ended the call. Quite peculiar, really!

Some bloke just phoned saying I’d recently been in a car accident. Which I was, but I asked who he was working for and where he’d got his info. He then claimed to be from the Government Covid-19 Support Line (which didn’t sound right since NHS 119 doesn’t call people or deal with accidents). I asked for a number to ring him back as I was just about to join a Teams meeting. He kept pushing for my details straight away but finally said he’d ring me later. If he does, I’ll try to record the call.

Received a rather persistent call regarding a so-called “accident” that I’ve supposedly had - mind you, I don’t even drive! It turned out to be a claims management outfit. I made it quite clear that there’s been no accident on my part and that such unsolicited calls contravene GDPR regulations. I insisted they remove my number from their list, but they didn't take kindly to that and began to bicker, insisting they had every right to call me. It turned into a bit of back and forth as they simply refused to hang up. In the end, I decided to block their number.

What a cheery chap he was at the start! He didn't mention which company he represented, but he made it clear he was following up on an accident I’d experienced. When I reminded him we’ve been in lockdown for nearly a year, he took umbrage, which was amusing. I cheekily corrected him, saying it’s been closer to two years. We ended up exchanging a few barbed remarks, and his sunny disposition soon evaporated into rather colourful expletives, shall we say!
