I’m based in Derbyshire and this number rings me at least daily for stretches of time. Seems like they’re using some kind of automated dialling system or robo call stuff. Thankfully, my phone has a caller block feature that stops the ring since the caller never enters the 3-digit code it asks for. I only find out about it later from a missed call alert, so sometimes it takes a while to notice. Honestly, anyone else getting pest calls from numbers like this should get caller blocking on their phones - it really helps keep the nuisance away.

Got a call from someone saying they were from Sky equipment insurance. Seemed legit at first but then they asked for my bank info on the phone, which is a massive alarm bell. I was proper annoyed when I said no.

called my landline first, but i dont pick up 0800 numbers. my landline is always on voicemail so no reply from me. then my mobile rang right after from the same number, i didnt answer that either, it showed "domestic and general" on the screen. i dont have any contact with domestic and general so have blocked the number straight away. ive had calls like this before and im pretty sure its just scammers.

I rang the number back and got an automated message saying it's Domestic and General, apologising for missing me and saying they might ring again later. I blocked the number but they still kept ringing at least 6 more times despite the block.

Martin Lewis suggests saving the amount you’d pay for insurance so if your appliance breaks down, you’ve got funds ready for repairs. If it never happens, then it’s just extra money for you. I’m gonna block this number. If I ever need Domestic & General, I’ll ring them myself!
