My phone flagged 0800 497 0743 as a spam number and stopped the call from going through. Like many others here, I just set up a new LG TV. I’m pretty sure this is Domestic and General insurance ringing to push an extended warranty. I did sign up with the TPS ages ago, but I reckon they must consider this allowed since I gave my number when registering the product.

Got a call from Indesit after buying a new washing machine. I signed up on Saturday for their 10 year parts warranty. Turns out they were trying to sell me accidental damage cover, which I said no to. Fingers crossed this is the last call I get from them.

I just had a phone call from this number. A man with a thick Glaswegian accent was on the line. To be honest, I could hardly grasp what he was trying to say. Strangely enough, he mentioned my recent fridge purchase, even specifying the brand and the price! When I told him I was struggling to pick up on much of his speech because of the accent, he suddenly hung up after uttering a curt goodbye. Quite odd, really!

I’m really careful to always decline any marketing when I sign up, but this seems to be the same old thing, trying to push extended warranty sales after the fact. I signed up my Beko cooker earlier today and got a ring from this number just a few hours after. You claim there’s "NO contact" but somewhere later on, there's no option to say no. Spent nearly 30 years in insurance myself - if I want insurance, I’ll go and get it. Remember, here in the UK, there are laws about reasonable expectations, plus their products come with a 10 year parts warranty!

Like many others, I bought a new Beko oven from Curry’s. After activating the warranty, I got a call from this number just a couple of hours later, trying to get me to agree to some extra insurance. When I registered the guarantee, I made sure to opt out of any communications and declined the extra insurance, so it’s pretty annoying that they’re still ringing to push it on me.

Complete con, called me about handling a recent car crash on a no win no fee deal. I asked him which car it was, he didn’t have a clue, asked again. Was it the Porsche or the Mclaren? Still no idea. I told him the missus has access to the cars and if she’d had an accident, she’d have sorted it without telling me. Kept him on the line for about 12 minutes before I ended the call. I don’t even own those cars. Just goes to show you how rubbish these calls are.

Got a random call on my mobile from a +44800..... number, looked like it was international or something. Hung up just as it was about to ring. Funny thing is, apart from swapping the last two digits, it’s the exact number that rang my landline a couple of times earlier this week. Didn’t leave any voicemail on either my landline (. . . 0734) or my mobile (. . . 0743). Pretty sure it’s some kind of scam.

I signed up for the parts warranty on my Hotpoint cooker just yesterday, and now it feels like Domestic and General Insurance might be following up to try and sell me a bigger insurance plan. Since Domestic and General actually handle the one-year plus parts warranty for Hotpoint, it doesn’t seem like Hotpoint gave away my details wrongly. It’s really just poor behaviour from the insurance company.

If you recently purchased any appliances, you might get a ring from this number. It's Domestic & General Insurance, and they usually try to pitch you different cover options, mainly accident damage ones. I already have home insurance that covers this stuff, so no point paying extra. I just tell them I’m not interested and ask them to stop calling, and usually, they do after that.

Got a BEKO fridge freezer from Currys and paid for the 5 year extended warranty with them, costing about £2 monthly, which seemed like a good deal and gave me some reassurance. Just received a call from this number shortly after registering my mum's washing machine. They appeared to have all the specifics about the make, purchase date, and price of the machine, and were trying to peddle insurance. When I requested a contact number for a callback, they insisted it was an outbound line only. I then asked them to send me the information through the post, but they informed me that wasn’t an option. They were insistent on acquiring my bank details, including account number and sort code. There was a woman on the line with a strong Geordie accent, and she sounded quite persuasive. However, at the last moment, I declined their offer as she couldn't verify her identity. Steer clear of this number. It's best not to fall for it.

Got a missed call where they said my name then hung up quick. I looked up the number and found it's tied to AO, where I recently bought a dishwasher through Boots Appliances. As soon as I tried to register my Beko appliance for the two-year warranty, it redirected me to Domestic and General. They kept pushing me hard to get their insurance, which felt really dodgy. Feels like a sneaky trick to me, maybe Trading Standards should have a look into this nonsense. Reading loads of bad reviews just made me avoid them altogether. Blocked the number straight away!
