Domestic & General, they probs got your info when you signed up for the warranty. Basically, you gave them the green light to call when you registered it. They’re just ringing to see if you wanna take out proper appliance cover with them. I used to work in their complaints team. Decent insurance firm, quick with engineer visits and good at replacing stuff with like-for-like models. Would definitely recommend Domestic & General for insurance.

Got a call at 6:58pm, didn’t bother picking up since it seemed odd for an 0800 number to ring so late. After reading the comments, I’m relieved I didn’t answer. Thanks everyone, I’ll be putting this number on my block list now.

I didn’t pick up, it was Monday evening around 6, who calls from a 0800 number then? Felt a bit suspicious, so I didn’t bother listening to what they wanted. Cheers.

I just ended the call. After reading reviews here, I’m really relieved I didn’t give them any details.

Received a call about my nearly expired manufacturer’s warranty for my Beko oven, which I purchased from Currys last year. They were inquiring whether I’d be interested in extending the warranty and provided a quote. The gentleman on the line was quite courteous and didn't pressure me when I mentioned I had other coverage.

They pretended to be from Domestic and General at first, but then, when I asked more questions, they said they were actually from Indesit about insuring my new fridge freezer. Indesit officially gives you a 10 year warranty, but this caller claimed that opening the fridge or freezer would void it. Sounded dodgy to me, so I just ended the call and blocked the number straight away.
