So I got a call from a number supposedly Nationwide after a card payment I tried online got declined. They just wanted to check one small thing on my account to make sure it was me, then sorted out the card so I could use it again. Everything seemed legit. When I searched the number, the results mostly pointed to this site, and I couldn't find anything official connecting it to Nationwide anywhere else online. I got a call from Nationwide that was definitely an automatic one. I was trying to buy something online but the site was US-based, so Nationwide stopped the transaction. Today I actually rang the number on the back of my Nationwide card ‘cause I was a bit suspicious of some calls. They confirmed the number was legit and even told me the exact times of three calls they’d made to me, down to the minute. Before I got through, I did have to verify my identity using something linked in my banking app, so they didn’t ask for any extra security details later on. From what I can tell, this was a genuine call from Nationwide’s fraud team keeping an eye on my account.

I got a text saying it was from Nationwide Fraud Prevention or summat, but they’d spelt my last name wrong which was a dead giveaway. It’s totally a scam, no doubt about it. They try to act like they’re from Nationwide Bank, but real phone calls from Nationwide always ask security questions first. Plus, this call connected way too fast, which felt fishy. They were also using old info - said there was an issue with my son’s Nationwide credit card, but he hasn’t had one in over a decade and he doesn’t even live at this address anymore. I’ve blocked the number now.

Got a call from this number and they left a voicemail about some dodgy activity on my account with Nationwide Bank. I didn’t phone back that number though. Instead, I rang the customer service number on the back of my card and yep, ended up speaking with Nationwide. Turns out my card had been cloned. While I was on the line with them, I saw two more attempts to use it which the bank stopped straight away. Now my card's blocked and can’t be used anymore.

I was sleeping last night when I noticed a payment taken from Uber, so I called Nationwide to check. While I was on the phone, this number showed up saying it was a scam and even left me a voicemail. I asked the person at Nationwide if they would be contacting me by phone, but she told me they usually only get in touch via text, email, or a letter - never a call. I've had this number ring me about five times today before I finally blocked it. They claim to be from Nationwide, saying there’s been some dodgy activity on your card. Total scam alert. I’d recommend ringing up Nationwide yourself, get them to add a Service Alert on your account and they’ll keep an eye on things for a whole year. Stay safe out there!

This was from Nationwide, definitely not a scam. My card got blocked due to a ‘suspicious transaction’, but after answering a few simple security questions - nothing personal or worrying - they sorted it out. Also, they told me I could ring the number on the back of my card to double check if I wanted, which scammers wouldn’t allow. Right after I hung up, the payment went through. So yeah, all legit - 02/06/2025. It’s such a pity people now just assume every unknown caller is dodgy. Remember how we managed before Google was around? :(

This is definitely legit, it’s nationwide. My card got stopped because of a ‘suspicious transaction’, but after answering a few security questions that felt pretty standard and not intrusive, everything was fine. If it had been a scam, there’s no way they’d let me hang up and call back on the number on the back of my card like they did. And once I ended the call, the payment went through right away. Got a call from Nationwide with one of those automated alerts about suspicious stuff going on with my account. I didn’t trust the phone number they left so I used the official app to ring them instead. Turns out some company in Australia was trying to do a £0.00 test transaction on my card. Don’t trust this site, it’s a proper con. Most of the good reviews you see are fakes from the scammers themselves. If you need to get in touch with Nationwide, call them straight from their official line. They’ve also got a Nationwide app that alerts you to any problems. Be careful and don’t get tricked by the so-called verification tick on this page.
