I picked up the phone and after a brief pause, a woman answered saying she was from O2. She introduced herself as Chris and mentioned something about a complaint I'd made. But the issue she talked about had nothing to do with my Airtime credit problem. She then tried to verify my details, asking for my name and such. I didn't share anything since it all seemed a bit dodgy. I asked her to tell me the name on the account linked to the number she was calling from, but she wouldn't. After a short back and forth, she just ended the call. Pretty clear to me it was a scam.

I’ve been expecting a ring from them for about a week now. They told me last Monday to look out for their call on Monday itself. Well today’s Wednesday, and that’s when they finally phoned. The caller ID read “Virgin Media O2”. It started with a robotic voice saying something like “This is a call from O2, please hold”. Then some hold music kicked in. After about a minute, it just went quiet with no one speaking. Honestly, I’m calling this “HARASSING” because it doesn’t seem right for a company to handle an issue like that.
