Got a call from a woman claiming she was from Virgin Media, saying they wanted to make sure I was on the best tariff. She asked me to confirm my account by telling her the first part of my address. I didn’t give it, just told her I’m fine with my current deal and asked them to stop calling. They ring from different numbers like this one, mostly in the evening, and I usually just don’t pick up. Fingers crossed they’ll stop bugging me soon!

They mentioned the date they supposedly set up our equipment, which was correct but when I said I needed to check with my hubby, the caller just hung up. RINGER WAS A SCAM - defo NOT a legit call. After ringing my mobile a couple of times and then my home phone in like 5 mins, the annoying caller left a voicemail saying they'd cut off my Virgin Mobile if I didn't call back on some 0345 number. Virgin Media keeps phoning me about my account, usually calling a couple of times every day. After going through some simple info, the person on the line sounded like they couldn’t hear me properly. If you’re not interested in an upgrade or any of their services, which I don’t have, they just rush to finish the call. I’ve decided not to talk to them anymore unless I choose to.

I noticed a missed call from Rand at around 5:39 this evening while I was busy with work.

This number rang me about twelve times within half an hour. I’ve got a busy job, so it was pretty irritating having my phone buzzing all the time. Eventually, I picked up and spoke to a bloke with an Indian accent. He started asking for security info like the first line of my address and my postcode, which I gave him. Then he went on to ask about my current phone deal, how much I’m paying, and what I’m getting for it.

Part 2 - He then started talking about some "special deal" for long-time customers. He wanted to sell me the exact same internet plan I already had, priced at £62, which I was already paying for, and said it would be renewed for another 18 months. The only added perk he mentioned was a Sim Card for my phone with 10GB of data, plus unlimited calls and texts, which would push my bill up to £71. I was about to agree, but deep down I wondered how much this would jump once the 18 months were over.

Part 5 - I haven't even bought a TV Licence since I moved here 5 years ago. I told him straight up, "I'm NOT interested in ANY TV packages at all. I don’t want anything added to my account. I’m satisfied with what I’ve got and the services I’m paying for now. I don’t want to make any changes or add any services or packages. Thanks." There was a bit of quiet, I reckon he realised I was ready to argue if he kept pushing to add packages without my say-so. Then he just ended the call. That’s it.

So this bloke goes ahead and tells me he’s sorting out a new contract for me and adding it to my account before I’ve even given the nod or said yes. And at the same time, he chucks in a TV package as well, even though I kept telling him more than once that I don’t own a TV, don’t watch it at all, and have no interest in live TV or paying for anything I’d never use.
