Virgin Media calling my mobile? Really? My mobile’s with a different network, I only have Virgin for my landline. Each time they ring my mobile, I tell them to contact me on my Virgin landline if they want to talk about their packages. Of course, they never bother to call that number. Alright, this number belongs to virgin media marketing. Give em a ring by dialling 789 on your phone, then press 5 followed by 0. Tell them you want to cancel your contract or account. At first they’ll probably deny it, but keep going and say you’re set on cancelling. They’ll then disable the marketing calls, so you shouldn’t get any more if you end up cancelling. Just have your mobile number and account password ready.

I confirmed that I did. She went on to mention that as a valued customer, they had a special offer for me. Curiosity piqued, I questioned why she chose to ring my mobile rather than my home phone. She simply stated that she'd give me a bell on my landline and abruptly ended the conversation. Since I hadn’t heard back from her on my landline, I couldn’t shake off the feeling of doubt. A quick search of her number revealed what I already feared - it was indeed a fraudulent call.

Quick update on those Virgin sales calls. After the second time they rang, I gave them a bit of grief. They told me they’d email the Sales team to cut out the calls. I usually don’t pick up when it’s an 0800 number, but I’m convinced Virgin has been passing on my number along with loads of others to sketchy people. That’s the risk with UK firms outsourcing their call centres - you’ve no clue who ends up with your details.

This number has called me nearly 30 times over the past couple of months. I've tried blocking it several times but no luck. I looked it up on this site and realised it was a scam. A foreign woman asked me to give her my address, but I told her I wouldn’t share that on the phone. Then she came back with some so-called amazing offer, and I said, “I know exactly who and where you are. If you call again, I’ll report you to the police. Take me off your list or I’ll take action myself,” and I ended the call.

I’m with Virgin Media so I guess the call is legit. Yet, I’ve never picked up any of the 35 calls they’ve made in the past half year ‘cause I’ve blocked that number. Proper frustrating that they just wanna chat about offers over the phone. If Brandon reads this, “just write it down, yeah?!”

A couple of days back, I received a phone call on my pay-as-you-go Virgin mobile, but I chose to let it ring out. Just now, I rang the number using my work phone, which hides my own number, and was greeted by a rather pleasant automated voice. It informed me that it was Virgin Media Sales, claiming they’d attempted to contact me previously and would make another attempt. Honestly, this is clearly just a ruse-they're definitely trying to pull one over on people!

I've also had a ring from this number. The caller identified herself as being from Virgin, claiming I could cut my costs if I opted for a monthly direct debit. When she requested my banking information, I firmly declined and insisted she send the information via post instead. Although she attempted to assure me that I'd receive confirmation once the direct debit was established, I stood my ground and outright refused. In the end, she relented!

I've been getting calls from this number since around March, and until recently, I hadn't managed to have a conversation with anyone. This week, however, an individual (possibly from India?) introduced himself, but I missed his name. He claimed to be representing Virgin and then went on to mention that he had detailed information about my “pay as you go” account, including the last four digits of my debit card. It was quite challenging to focus on his conversation as I was busy at work, but I got the impression he was trying to persuade me to set up a direct debit, which is rather absurd for someone like me who only uses her phone a handful of times a month! He brought up something about “loyalty points,” but the moment he started asking for my bank account number, I requested that he send me the information in writing and promptly ended the call. I have absolutely no intention of answering that number again!

Received a rather disconcerting phone call today from this number, and frankly, it was quite appalling. They introduced themselves as representatives of Virgin Media, claiming there was a special offer for free calls everywhere and no costs involved. It really reeked of a scam, especially since the caller, a woman with what sounded like an Indian or Asian accent, seemed quite dodgy. I swiftly hung up; I’ve encountered this sort of nonsense before - they always want to verify personal details and such. It’s alarming how these calls continue to occur and how dangerous they can be. I suspect it’s some sort of phishing attempt. No legitimate Virgin Media employee would approach a customer in this manner, so I’m reporting it. If you receive a similar call, don’t engage - just hang up, don't disclose any information, and make sure to report it to Action Fraud.

Although some individuals might assert that this phone number belongs to Virgin (and I find myself inclined to agree, as I've previously engaged with a similar number), there's no way I'll be revealing my card's security code for some so-called offer. They've asked for it before, and it's simply out of the question. If there are genuine promotions to be shared, they can easily send me a text message as they typically do, rather than bombarding me with calls at all hours. They must know the appropriate times to reach out; I happened to doze off and they chose that moment to ring. Other occasions have been during my work hours or after 7pm when I’m glued to my favourite shows. If this number turns out to be dodgy, the parties responsible for distributing people's contact details need to seriously reconsider their actions, as they are perpetuating what could very well be a scam.

It showed up as Virgin Media on True Caller but I’m certain it’s a scam. They left a voicemail with office noises in the back, like they think that’ll trick me into picking up. I just ignored it and blocked the number. A few months ago, I got a very similar call from a close number asking about my Virgin Media account. Thing is, they rang my mobile which isn’t even with Virgin Media, and asked me to prove my identity. I told them if they’re calling my personal phone, they should already have my info. She ended the call sharpish after that.
