Virgin Media calling my mobile? Really? My mobile’s with a different network, I only have Virgin for my landline. Each time they ring my mobile, I tell them to contact me on my Virgin landline if they want to talk about their packages. Of course, they never bother to call that number. I’ve had to block their number on my phone now, but even with that, they’ve called several times over the last few days according to my blocked calls log.

Hey everyone, try calling Virgin on 789 and pick option 5 then 0. Ask them to remove the marketing preferences they have on your account. That usually fixes the issue. Hope that helps, cheers, David.

I've had this number ring me more than 60 times in the last nine months. It’s weird because sometimes they’ll call two or three times every day for a couple of weeks, then stop completely for around a month, and then they’re back at it again. Alright, this number belongs to virgin media marketing. Give em a ring by dialling 789 on your phone, then press 5 followed by 0. Tell them you want to cancel your contract or account. At first they’ll probably deny it, but keep going and say you’re set on cancelling. They’ll then disable the marketing calls, so you shouldn’t get any more if you end up cancelling. Just have your mobile number and account password ready.

I got a call on my mobile from a woman who spoke with an Asian accent. She claimed she was calling from Virgin and asked if I was the account holder. I said yes. Then she told me Virgin wanted to give me a special offer because I’m a loyal customer. I wondered why she was calling my mobile rather than my landline, so I asked about that. She said she'd ring me back on my landline but then just ended the call. She never bothered to call me on the landline again. Feeling iffy about the whole thing, I looked up the number and, as I had suspected, it turned out to be a scam.

I’ve been with Virgin Media on mobile for ages, like around ten years now, but recently this number has been calling me nonstop - I reckon it’s over 30 calls in the last couple of months. I’ve got a feeling VM might have shared or sold my phone details to some dodgy call centre abroad. These calls feel very scammy and it’s really putting me off. Up until now, Virgin calls have finally stopped. I was also gonna recommend to anyone who keeps getting sales calls to sign up with the TPS, it’s free and it really helped cut down on the sales calls I get at home. Just added my mobile number as well.

Quick update on those Virgin sales calls. After the second time they rang, I gave them a bit of grief. They told me they’d email the Sales team to cut out the calls. Yesterday was the first day with no calls from them, so fingers crossed it stays that way this week. If anyone else is getting hassled, just ring 789 and ask to have sales calls blocked. Does anyone know how to get these awful calls to stop? A while back, in the summer, a call came from a number like this claiming to be Virgin. When they tried to get my bank details, I refused and they just hung up. It’s really stressful.

Just had another word with Virgin about my earlier complaint. They tried calling 08001836412 but couldn’t get through. While I was talking to them, they checked out the number and said if you add a zero at the start, it does ring Virgin Sales, but only part of their legit number’s been used here. Virgin confirmed they’re not connected to the number at all. I told the rep how rubbish this looks for Virgin and that I was close to cancelling my contract because of it. He even went and googled the number himself! One tip I got was to get a new phone that can block unwanted calls. Sadly, my landline has call blocking, but my old mobile doesn’t support it. He assured me Virgin are working on sorting this out, so I guess we’ll see what happens next!

This number has called me nearly 30 times over the past couple of months. I've tried blocking it several times but no luck. I looked it up on this site and realised it was a scam. A foreign woman asked me to give her my address, but I told her I wouldn’t share that on the phone. Then she came back with some so-called amazing offer, and I said, “I know exactly who and where you are. If you call again, I’ll report you to the police. Take me off your list or I’ll take action myself,” and I ended the call.

I’m with Virgin Media so I guess the call is legit. Yet, I’ve never picked up any of the 35 calls they’ve made in the past half year ‘cause I’ve blocked that number. Proper frustrating that they just wanna chat about offers over the phone. If Brandon reads this, “just write it down, yeah?!”

A couple of days back, I received a phone call on my pay-as-you-go Virgin mobile, but I chose to let it ring out. Just now, I rang the number using my work phone, which hides my own number, and was greeted by a rather pleasant automated voice. It informed me that it was Virgin Media Sales, claiming they’d attempted to contact me previously and would make another attempt. Honestly, this is clearly just a ruse-they're definitely trying to pull one over on people!

Got a call from this number as well. The woman said she was from Virgin and claimed I could cut costs by moving to a monthly direct debit plan. She wanted my direct debit info, but I said no and told her to post me the details instead. She kept insisting they’d send a confirmation once the direct debit was arranged. I stood firm and refused to hand over any details, so eventually she just gave up!

Since around March, this number has kept ringing me, but I never managed to talk to anyone until just recently. A man, I think he sounded Indian, gave me his name but I didn’t quite catch it. He said he was calling from Virgin and somehow knew loads about my pay-as-you-go account, even the last four digits of my debit card. I was a bit distracted because I was working, so I had a hard time focusing, but I got the impression he was trying to get me to set up a direct debit - which is odd because I barely use my phone more than half a dozen times a month! He also started going on about some "loyalty points" or something. Whenever he asked for my bank details, I told him to send me something in writing and ended the call there. I won’t be picking up from that number ever again.

Got a call from +8001836412 claiming to be Virgin Media Sales. I rang UK Virgin Media to double check, and they said the chat I had was legit. They never asked for any bank info, just tried to upsell me a fairly affordable mobile WiFi dongle upgrade.

Got a call today from this number, and honestly, it was disgusting. They used my name and said they were from Virgin Media offering free calls with no charges. Felt like a scam straight away. The woman had a foreign accent, maybe Indian or some Asian background. I hung up immediately since they’ve called me before asking for personal info, which I never gave. This kind of thing is really dangerous and should be stopped. No real Virgin Media rep would talk like that. Definitely a phishing scam trying to steal details. Don’t give them anything, just hang up and report to Action Fraud.

If this really is Virgin like some folks say (and I kinda believe it since I once picked up a call from a similar number), there's no way I'm handing over the security code from my card for some “offer” - they asked for that before. Legit offers should just come through by text like they normally do, not blow up my phone non-stop. They know the best time to call, but I happened to be asleep and missed it. Other calls have come while I was working or after 7pm when my TV shows are on. If this isn’t a Virgin number, whoever’s sharing people’s details needs to stop because they’re basically aiding scams if this is one.

It showed up as Virgin Media on True Caller but I’m certain it’s a scam. They left a voicemail with office noises in the back, like they think that’ll trick me into picking up. I just ignored it and blocked the number. A few months ago, I got a very similar call from a close number asking about my Virgin Media account. Thing is, they rang my mobile which isn’t even with Virgin Media, and asked me to prove my identity. I told them if they’re calling my personal phone, they should already have my info. She ended the call sharpish after that.
