I get calls from this number nearly every day, but they never bother to leave a voicemail. Sometimes I pick up and they say they’re from Barclaycard, but when I rang Barclaycard myself, they said there’s nothing wrong with my account and they haven’t tried to contact me. If it really was Barclaycard, wouldn’t they leave a voicemail or send a message on my online account if it’s really important?

I seem to get calls from this number almost every day, yet they never bother to leave a message. There have been times when I've picked up, and the Caller says they're from Barclaycard. But when I took the initiative to contact Barclaycard directly, they had no log of any concerns regarding my account or any outreach from them. If they really were from Barclaycard, wouldn't you think they'd drop a voicemail or at least send a note to my online account if it was something pressing?

Got a call from a guy with an Asian accent, talking about my mother in law. He said this was the number he was given and claimed he didn’t have her direct number. Apparently, my number was provided for emergencies. We called my mother in law to check and she told us this bloke had already contacted her from BC asking for her date of birth. Be careful... She told me to ask him to send a letter instead.

Got a call on my mobile, I picked up and they just dropped the call straight away. Then they rang my landline about a minute later, asked me to verify my last name and after that, they just ended the call. Seemed like they had a really strong accent.

They've rung me loads of times. Always following the same script and it just sounds really fake. Not trying to be racist or anything, but every time it's the same Asian voice, and I’m sure Barclays has more than one worker! It’s a bit unsettling that they don’t say what it’s about before asking security questions. I get that it’s probably for data protection, but surely the banks could verify some info on their side first before asking us for our details!

Got a call on my mobile, then about ten minutes later on my home phone as well. A lady with a strong foreign accent said she was calling from Barclaycard and even knew my name. The script she used was exactly the same on both calls, but she hung up within ten seconds every time. I rang Barclaycard myself shortly after, and they said they had never heard of this number.

This number rang me and the person already knew my name but I didn’t confirm it. I asked where they were calling from but they wouldn’t say since I hadn’t confirmed. We ended up having a bit of a disagreement because I thought the company name shouldn’t be secret if they expect me to give my name. The bloke on the line, Mr Shah, just hung up rather than answering my questions to put me at ease. Not sure if it was a legit business or not, but they were quite unfriendly and didn’t behave professionally at all.

I received a rather suspicious call from this number. The first time, they disconnected as soon as I picked up. On the second occasion, they asserted they were from Barclays and proceeded to ask me a series of questions to confirm my identity. I expressed my unease about divulging any personal details, given that I couldn't verify their authenticity as genuine Barclays representatives. The chap on the line simply replied, "Fine, you can contact Barclays yourself," and promptly ended the call. This is undoubtedly the worst experience I’ve had with Barclays customer service, leading me to believe there's a strong likelihood this is a phishing attempt. It's best to safeguard your information and not reveal anything!

Someone rang me yesterday saying it was Barclaycard but just hung up right after. I did 1471 on the number, which I guess is what they wanted, and it came back with 0800 0561411 to call - I didn’t bother ringing it though. Proper thankful for websites like this. Feels like a scam to me.

Answered the phone, and the bloke called me Mr. I quickly put him right, saying I’m actually a Miss. He repeated my name, I acknowledged with a 'yes'... then he promptly disconnected the call. Now I’m feeling a bit uneasy, pondering if it was one of those dodgy scams where they snag a recording of you saying 'yes' to rope you into some sort of agreement later on.

Yep, this is a real Barclaycard number! But watch out, scammers are copying bank phone numbers all the time!!! Banks will never ask you for your PIN or passwords. Also, don’t just hang up and call back straight away coz some fraudsters stay on the line and answer as if they’re Barclaycard. Best to call back later or another day.

I looked it up and this definitely isn’t a proper Barclays contact - 08001615245 doesn’t match any official Barclays line. Make sure you’ve got the right number.
