9 yearsThis is nothing but a blatant con, attempting to intimidate folks. I strongly suggest you notify the authorities about it.9 yearsI recently encountered an unsettling instance of what appears to be the SYSKEY hoax (you can read about it here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Syskey). The scheme unfolded after we received a notification about a fictitious virus, prompting us to call the number provided. The perpetrators, posing as Microsoft representatives, gained remote access to our computer under the guise of providing support. Once in control, they proceeded to implement a password restriction, subsequently demanding payment to remove it. Unfortunately, my wife was misled after clicking on a dubious link on Facebook, but on the bright side, they opted for a basic password, “123456,” which made it easier for me to rectify the situation.SyskeyMicrosoftFacebook9 yearsIt’s definitely a dodgy operation!
