It’s probably a scam for sure, but it can be a bit annoying. Just try restarting your computer and that usually sorts it out.

I keep getting this super irritating window popping up, saying my personal info's been nicked and to ring some number for my Sky wi-fi provider. It started after I clicked on a few links on some dodgy site called goodmadI###]. Not sure what to do next but I’ll try and share more if this keeps happening. Stay safe everyone!

I saw this number appear on my screen and tried to exit the page but it wouldn’t let me close it. I looked it up on my phone and saw some warnings from others who dealt with it before. After that, I powered down my laptop and turned it back on. Just a heads up - don’t press OK if it shows up to you!

After a random scan, I got an alert saying it was connected to Amazon through Virgin Broadband. It asked me to ring a number, so I did, and ended up talking to a bloke from India who said he needed to get into my computer to sort it out. But when I asked more questions, it quickly seemed fishy. Definitely don’t fall for it!

I saw the number 08000903219 pop up on my screen using BT broadband, linked to an Amazon email in my Gmail. Turns out it’s a malware scam from India that blocks you from closing the page. It warns you not to turn off your computer or you’ll lose files, and urges you to ring that number. Don’t fall for it! Just cut the power to your PC and if you’ve got a laptop, take out the battery and put it back in. Then boot it up normally, run a full malware check, and avoid opening the same web pages again. It’s best to switch to a different browser too. Works fine for me.
