I encountered a rather frustrating pop-up while attempting to access the LSE website. At this point, I’m unable to either log in or log out, and to make matters worse, the only way to sort this out seems to be a reboot. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can get rid of this pesky scam?

I didn't get a call from this number at all. However, I was met with a rather dodgy pop-up claiming to be from Microsoft, warning me that a virus had infiltrated my computer. It insisted that my credit card information, along with my email, was at risk, and it even mentioned that my nonexistent Facebook account had been breached! That set off alarm bells in my mind right away-it was a complete scam! They pressured me to ring the number back within a mere five minutes or risk having my computer blocked as a precaution against the so-called virus infecting the Microsoft system. They claimed their "technical team" would guide me through the process of eradicating this supposed issue. Clearly, their aim was to extract personal details to facilitate a breach or to direct me towards a dodgy website that would drain my wallet whilst pretending to sort out my computer.

Beware of this number - it’s a fraudulent attempt. They’re fishing for your personal information such as your housing details, whereabouts, name, address, phone number, and even bank account info. It's best to steer clear and ignore their calls entirely, whatever temptation there might be to engage!
